Good but not great

Cute story as usual, but the narration was better in King of Wrath. The way Kai was narrated in the first book was smoother, a little more sensual.

It was okay but...

This book was okay. I liked the first book better.
I didn't like the Male narrator. He lacked emotion.
The Story dragged along. The "Love Connection" was lack luster. I wanted this book because of the way Kai and Izzy were written in book 1. I was disappointed that there wasn't more "Love Story". Over all, I liked the Story. Hopefully the next book in the series will be better.

The Feathers Tho...

Kai Young is really fighting for favorite book boyfriend. Isabella really pushed him out of his comfort zone and reminded you how good the quiet ones can be! The story is super low on angst. I really love the cameos from the other couples. And I am super excited for Dom. Overall a really fun listen. and Kai Kai Kai!

Kai and Isabella

Two New Yorkers, one a candidate to become the new CEO of his family business. Oxford graduate, in his spare time he likes to translate world known books into Latin. Isabella, an independant author trying to finish her latest novel but bartends to pay the bills. Isabella jist started to work for the exclusive club that high society visits. There they bump into wach other in the piano room. Where surprisingly Isabella plays after work to relax. Kai is enthralled, what a surprise. That same day its unexpected of him to visit the club because he received news he wasnt expecting. He knows he should stay away from the newly hire employee Isabella, but her carefree ways and no-filter about sex at the work place intrigues him. He wants to know more about her. But, he is considered high society a candidate to be Ceo and it would be socially weird to be seen by a tattooed bartender. Bit the more they spend time together the more tbey realize how a like they are. Kai seeing her inner strength and wanting to guide and help build her self confidence in pursing her career. But the tabloids are finding random photos of themselves. Will this ruin what they build? Or will Isabella realize just how mixed match they are and let him find a better match. I adore listening to these two narrators. 2 new voices for me and i cant wait to hear what else they are reading from.

Absolute perfection from this author and narrators

Who doesn't want to listen to a billionaire with a British accent?!?! These narrators nailed the roles of Kai and Isabella, and I loved every second of this opposites-attract, forbidden romance.

What I love about this series is that each book has taken me away into a world that is beautiful to imagine, and is a perfect escape. It was easy to picture these characters in an almost classic setting with a modern edge and feel to it.

I loved that Isabella was so down to earth and unique with her purple hair and tattoos working at an upscale and exclusive social club. Kai is everything charming, sexy, educated, and buttoned-up; but when he is with Isa, he lets himself just be... and it is a breath of fresh air. They are truly each other's yin and yang and I cheered them on from beginning to end.

This is another five star, must read from A Huang, and I can't wait for what's next to come in the series!

One Note

The VAs in this did not display much range of emotion. The accent of the MVA was particularly distracting. He sounded more like a villain in a kids movie than a serious interpretation of an upper class Brit. He was very “put on”.
Overall, this also was not my favorite Ana Huang book that I’ve read. The chemistry wasn’t there and I imagine it’s difficult to nail that when writing an opposites attract trope.
Will I listed to the next book? Absolutely. But I do hope for a change of pace as the series progresses.

love them almost as much as Vivian and Dante

I loved Kai and Isabella's story almost as much as I loved Dante and Vivian's. Kai and Isabella had to take many stepping stones to get their happily ever after. What I had learned from them in King of Wrath, it stayed true throughout King of Pride.

Kai is somewhat eccentric (and not in a bad way). He is prideful. He loves what he does as hobbies. He is very competitive. But he also has his sweet spots. I'm sure the first time he called Isabella "love" or "my love" was a slip of the tongue, out of nature, but it came smoothly. Kai was truly enamored by her from the very beginning.

Though she tended to avoid him, Isabella was the same way. Sure, she doesn't have the greatest past with her ex but Kai captivated her in ways she had not felt in TWO YEARS. She has her secrets (some so people don't take advantage of her) but she does have a pure heart. It's difficult not to love, especially if you, yourself, are working on your debut novel!

I loved the secret romance element of their story. It did keep me on my toes at times, especially when they'd almost get caught or DID. It kept it interesting. And the CEO voting war was something that kept me entertained as well.

Worth it!

Tall, with dark curly hair, black rimmed glasses, exquisite style, a brain + vocabulary that could rival a super computer, soon to be CEO of the Young Company, oh and did i mention he is a British billionaire ? Kai has everything he has ever wanted except for one thing, the girl he is never allowed to have . Coming from two totally different circles of life, Kai knows that she isn’t a good fit for him but he finds himself not being able to stay away . Breaking rules deliberately, crossing lines + recklessly doing what he wants for the first time in his life is a challenge but with Isabella by his side, life seems full of color for the first time ever .

Isabella Valencia has commitment issues . After her last relationship ended two years ago in lies, deceit + with some serious trauma, Isabella now stays to herself when it comes to the love department . That is until her resolve crumbles all thanks to a naughty British man who can’t keep his smart witted remarks or his deliciously sinful hands to himself . Knowing that her whole world could be flipped upside down if anything about their relationship comes to light, Isabella dives head first anyway . She’s just hoping that for once in her life, she is committing to the right thing .

This is my new all time favorite book from Ana Huang ! Kai + Isa have such a strong connection that their chemistry burns off the page . I devoured this book in one sitting because I needed to know what was going to happen next . Not to mention that this book has one of the best sex scenes I have ever read ! I mean Jane Austen books mixed with feathers .. YUMMY ! 🔥🥵🫦

This is the second book in the Kings of Sin series but it can be read as a standalone .

Loved them

This story followed Isabella and Kai. Isa is a bartender and aspiring thriller writer, Kai works at his family company and is going for the CEO title.

Kai & Isa may be very opposite but they were so good together and so unproblematic. It's was refreshing.

I'm curious about some of these side characters and hoping they get their own stories.
