As they chatted about their day, sipping on mugs of steaming hot chocolate, Maya couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment. The apartment was their safe haven, a place where they had shared countless memories and secrets. Framed photographs adorned the walls, snapshots capturing the essence of their unbreakable friendship throughout the years.
Outside the window, Brightwater came alive with its bustling streets and flickering street lamps. Raindrops tapped lightly against the glass, adding to the cozy ambiance of the evening. Maya gazed out at the scene, her mind momentarily drifting away from reality.
