Awesome

A very enjoyable book, unique characters and very interesting story. The narrator did a good job. I could not put it down. I wish it continues.

it may start a little slow...

but it's really worth it! I can't wait for the next books in the timeline!
a different narrator for each main character made for a spectacular way to keep track of what was going on and where it was happening.

Where did this author come from?

I "read" audible books a lot, and by a lot I mean I get through 30+ hours of recorded book every week so I am exited to have found this new author.

The stories are just right for someone like me. They kept me guessing. There are so many plot twists that I had no idea what would happen next, but none of the deus ex machina feel. I really would have looked up a synopsis if one existed. I was so eager to know what would happen.

I would say this is solidly YA, but without the super annoying self doubt internal dialogs that you find in many YA books.

The characters were well adjusted and likable, but not so complicated that you won't understand what's going on if you're listening while working with your hands, walking, or driving.

The story also isn't finished, but the last book is in the pre-order stage as of Oct 2023, so it won't be long now.

Betrayal cannot overcome Honour.

An interesting web of intrigue and hunger for power to the point that their interlocking betrayals cripple all hopes of success by anyone.

Open ended story

Story is long, but quite interesting.
It was light enough to allow me to do other things like dishes or repairs while listening.

All in from the beginning.

this was a great book. Characters have depth and the story keep you on the edge of your seat from the first page to the last. I cant wait for another book that continues this story.

This is only the beginning

Seriously, if you are here for a whole, complete series keep looking. This trilogy is a journey to change hearts and minds and leaves you with a "and this is only the beginning" feeling. A bit hard to get through in places (either dull or the sense of danger and urgency from one character's scene to another's was so vastly different that even by the end of the chapter I didn't care what they were doing because of the other.
