In the “The Chubby Church: A Call to Break Free of Weight and Eating Bondage” Jendayi Harris, in an uncompromising spiritual approach, gets to the root of how emotional experiences impact our weight and eating and keeps us in ongoing bondage. She introduces concepts like Chubbology, Grubbology & Emotional Fitness. She utilizes biblical scriptures, personal experiences, and the experiences of others to bring it all together.
The prayers and exercises at the end of each chapter were instrumental in taking action to make long lasting change. While this is a very serious book, I found humor throughout with Jendayi’s delivery.
I recommend this book to any anyone, especially Christians, who find themselves in a continuous weight and eating battle and truly have a desire to overcome and live the life that they are destined for.

Not chubby? This book is for you too!
I dragged my feet to read this book after a friend recommended it because I am by no stretch of the imagination chubby. I began listening to the audio book in the car and soon I was listening all the time. I am a reasonably healthy person who is conscious about what I eat and incorporates exercise into my routine, but while reading I soon recognized areas in my life where I struggled and used food (sugar) as a way to pacify myself. I always feel guilt when I do this and the shame is not what God desires for us Harris proclaims throughout. I immediately found myself being more aware of my self sabotage and putting down the sugary sweet when I felt anxious etc. I cannot unhear the facts nor the authors prayers for all of us to be free from eating bondage (even when your not chubby!). This book is so much more than a guide to weight loss, it is a guide to living your absolute BEST life. One good decision at a time.

Fighting the bulge battle God's way!
This book is so comprehensive and packed with truth, it is truly the only book you need to read on this subject. I loved the way Jendai linked all of the pieces of the puzzle together to reveal answers that work and show the way up and out of food and body image bondage. It is solid information delivered in love!

True freedom from the inside out
This book is full of dropping revelation and core work that is almost never mentioned anywhere else. I'm so thankful for the deliverance to my weight and eating struggles. I've only just started so I will be doing the work it takes written in this book to get free. Certain chapters were so deep they could have been a book on there own. Must read. Life changing!
