Yessss this was worth the wait.

I love Mische so much. She must be protected at all costs and Asar is most definitely up to the challenge. Love him for it.

The narration was great, too. Very engaging, and the performance certainly added to the drama.

Realism and fantasy have never been so well paired!

Outstanding. Broadbent at her best! Mische’s and Asar’s are so flawed, and have made deeply relatable mistakes. The character development in this book demonstrates and writer ascending in her craft. Section 1 is good; sections 2 and 3 are very good; and sections 4 through 7 to the end are so satisfying, I can almost forgive Broadbent for making me wait for the next book in this duet. Themes of betrayal and redemption are well wrought because Broadbent does not use one to replace the other, but rather demonstrates how both can exist in a space where the betrayer who is also the redeemed can move forward. I highly recommend reading.

Loved this story, narration was fabulous! Think the first duology was a bit more my MMC vibe but excited to know how this continues! I love this world you’ve created Carissa!!

Heart is heavy but the Mind is clear

I love it !! When I first started the book i wondered if Carissa Broadbent drew inspiration from Dantes Inferano. There is one he'll of a plot twist. I cried.

Felt very fast paced.

Overall it was a great story but it felt like it was very fast paced and confusing at times. Maybe because I need to review the other books again but still very good story.

The ending made my heart feel stabbed by an arrow

I think I’m speechless. That ending made me literally scream, cry, and almost tear my hair out. I don’t want to wait for the next one.

This audible book will suck you in and you will not stop listening until the story ends. Another well written book that will leave you wanting more!

I’m pretty sure I’d say this is the best book out of the series thus far. Twists and turns, background on the MC’s, loose ends put to rest & a cliffhanger to keep us on the edge of our seat til the next book. I can’t wait to see what book 4 brings.
