A return to (mostly) solo play

This book cut out the out of game world and even the guild management to focus on the adventure. It worked for this book and setup the next story but I found myself missing some aspects of them.

Pacing was consistent throughout though some more levity would have been enjoyed. Add more Constantine moments. The run away spell sigils were a key highlight.

Overall the narrator and story delivered. Excited to see where the story heads.

I enjoy the (leveling process) of the previous books but this one took it to a whole new level... you get answers to some questions, get to explore new places and dig into the lore of the books and a lot of action...over all I would read it again and recommend it 😉

Highly entertaining

I’ve never really run into a bad book in this series. So enjoyable with the depth of characters and the well-crafted story. Tine and again I found myself pleasantly surprised by the plot twists, reminiscent of works by Glen Cook (Black Company series) and William Gibson (Sprawl trilogy). Recommended for fantasy aficionados.

Amazing world building, character interactions, and spectacular action. Can't wait for the next book to arrive.

The stage is set for a whole new direction. can't wait to see where we go from here!

More Adventures with Lyrian and Company

Glad to be diving back into Ascend Online again as it was my first Litrpg series I picked up when the first book came out back in circa 2016. Continues to set up the deeper story, plenty of action, but this book didn't quite keep me as engaged and hooked like the others. Still enjoyed the heck out of it don't get me wrong, and Luke Daniel's narration amazing as always. might have been the long lull between books? Regardless check it out if your a fan of the series and genre, and def check out some of Luke's other works if you haven't, worth the reads and listens as well.

Good Story. Hate will probably be 3 years before next.

Like the story yes the burn out is real. I'm sure the writer feels the same. That being said run up was good the beginning slow mid not too bad and the end great. But, again don't make us wait mutable years for next. Loves the books.

No seriously, when you going to drop the next novel after taking your main character and shoving him on an epic quest in the middle of nowhere?!

The story continues

Threads of Fate has certainly been long awaited. The writer isn’t the best out there but I think he did justice to the series. Lyrian Rastler’s character progression feels well thought out. His actions and chosen steps have led him to greater and greater objectives. It is nice to see a bit more of the world being developed. This book is definitely more about world building than fighting or game mechanics. A lot of the story felt kinda meh but it really picked up at the end where it felt like everything finally came together. Left off in a good place but a bit of a cliffhanger too. Overall, decently entertaining listen with some good story and character progression.
