  • Episode 25- Practices for Presence and Perspective

    In this episode of An Incomplete Guide to Personal Growth, Sydney and Kelly give concrete examples practices to help in difficult moments. These are practices that can be done anywhere, anytime and can help ground you.

    • May you be happy, may you be peaceful, may you live with ease. Kelly did this while on the elliptical machine this week.
    • Square breath: Breathe in to the count of 4, pause for the count of four, exhale to the count of four, pause for four and repeat. You can expand this to 6 or 8 count. Refocuses our mind and can reset. Helps stay in the moment
    • These exercises have physiological effects as well as mental and emotional
    • Play an instrument, sing a hymn or other song
    • Mantra
    • Drawing back from tunnel vision, gaining perspective
    • Spiritual Direction and Directors/Companions
