Autistic As Fuck: life, love & pop culture through a black autistic lens

De: M
  • Resumen

  • Welcome to Autistic as F*ck, the podcast dissecting existence, pop culture and relationships through the unique lens of a black autistic woman diagnosed in her 30s. This is not your typical autism podcast. I created this show so girls and gays like me wouldn't feel so alone in their journey of understanding their brain. I will be sharing my lived experience as it pertains to autism and my identity intersections. I won't share research studies, this isn't a teachable moment as much as a witnessing. You are welcome here to listen, cackle and commiserate.

  • 8. Autism and work: entrepreneurship and employment are different flavours of poop
    Apr 23 2024

Having to work to live sucks, least of all when how your brain is built doesn't support consistent productivity. In this episode I discuss how difficult I find entrepreneurship and employment, and how much I resent having to betray myself at work just to maintain basic human rights (food, shelter). I get into:

    • Entrepreneurship and how it triggers our fear of being perceived
    • Capitalism and the illusion of choice
    • Workplaces wanting your time and not your productivity
    • The unfairness and impossibility of monetizing a passion
    • Fundamental incongruities of autism and conventional offices
