  • S2 Ep5: The Zoo Man Knoxville Tn. First Serial Killer
    Apr 17 2023
Thomas Dee Huskey, also called the "Zoo Man," is a convicted rapist and supposed serial killer who is serving a decades-long prison sentence. He was given his nickname by local sex workers, likely because of his former job as an elephant trainer. Huskey is believed to have strangled four sex workers in Knoxville in the early 1990s, but a judge ruled that missteps in the case and a "coerced" confession meant that he couldn't be tried for murder. He was convicted of rape and sentenced to 64 years in prison.

  • S2 Ep4: Alex Murdaugh The Murders Part 1
    Apr 12 2023
Alex Murdaugh is a former prominent lawyer from South Carolina who gained national attention after a series of scandals in 2021. He comes from a wealthy and influential family that has been involved in the legal profession for decades.
Murdaugh was a partner at the law firm Peters Murdaugh Parker Eltzroth & Detrick (PMPED), which has been a prominent law firm in the state for over a century. Murdaugh specialized in personal injury law and was known for his success in winning large settlements for his clients.
In June 2021, Murdaugh's wife Maggie and their son Paul were found shot to death on their family's hunting property. Murdaugh claimed to have discovered their bodies upon returning home from an out-of-town trip.
In September 2021, Murdaugh resigned from PMPED and announced that he was entering rehab for an opioid addiction. Soon after, he reported that he had been shot in the head while changing a tire on the side of a rural road. The incident initially sparked an investigation into attempted murder, but later it was reported that Murdaugh had orchestrated the shooting in a botched suicide attempt.
During the investigation into the shooting, it was revealed that Murdaugh was being investigated for allegedly embezzling millions of dollars from his law firm over several years. PMPED filed a lawsuit accusing Murdaugh of stealing funds, which led to a cascade of legal and financial troubles for the Murdaugh family.

  • S2 Ep2: Holly Bobo The Trial Part 2
    Mar 13 2023
The trial of Holly Bobo was a high-profile criminal case in Tennessee, United States, that took place between September 2017 and September 2018. Holly Bobo was a 20-year-old nursing student who went missing from her home in Parsons, Tennessee, in April 2011. After an extensive search, her remains were found in September 2014 in a wooded area near her home.
Two men, Zachary Adams and Jason Autry, were eventually charged with the kidnapping, rape, and murder of Holly Bobo. A third man, John Dylan Adams, was charged with tampering with evidence. The trial of Zachary Adams began on September 11, 2017, and lasted for several weeks.
During the trial, the prosecution presented evidence that Adams had confessed to his involvement in the crime to several people, including his brother and ex-girlfriend. They also presented DNA evidence that matched Holly Bobo's blood and hair to Adams. The defense argued that the prosecution's evidence was circumstantial and that there was no direct evidence linking Adams to the crime.
On September 22, 2017, the jury found Zachary Adams guilty of the kidnapping, rape, and murder of Holly Bobo. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. In January 2018, Jason Autry went on trial for his role in the crime and was found guilty of the same charges. He was also sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
John Dylan Adams pleaded guilty to charges of tampering with evidence and was sentenced to 35 years in prison.
