  • Personal Brand Revamp with Money Genius Garrett Gunderson | EP 50
    Jun 25 2024

Welcome to Own Your Brand, hosted by Bijal Patel, entrepreneur, founder, investor, designer, and content creator with over 13 years of corporate experience working at Fortune 500 companies. Within this podcast, you’ll learn about branding, vision, identity, mindset, and how to scale your business to the next level.

This week's Own Your Brand podcast episode features Garrett Gunderson!

Garrett Gunderson's journey in finance and helping people live their best lives starts with his great-grandfather, Biagio Eaquinta. In the early 1900s, Biagio left his pregnant wife in Italy to move to America, working as a shepherd and in coal mines in Utah. His life of scarcity influenced Garrett’s family for generations.

At 15, Garrett started his first business, cleaning cars for the local coal mine and credit union. This venture earned him Utah’s Rural Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. Inspired to "make it" beyond his small town, Garrett sought advice from financial experts, leading to conflicting and often poor guidance. This fueled his quest for financial knowledge.

Garrett earned a finance degree and began his career in financial services, quickly becoming disillusioned by its sales-driven nature. The market crash in 2000 intensified his determination to learn more, investing heavily in his education post-college. He discovered the concept of "money personas" and the importance of financial efficiency.

In 2001, Garrett co-founded Engenuity, a financial firm that thrived until a tragic plane crash in 2006 claimed the lives of his partners. This event prompted Garrett to reevaluate his life goals. He resigned from his top-tier insurance job to speak freely about financial myths, leading to the creation of the Producer Revolution, a movement empowering people to take control of their finances.

Garrett’s book, "Killing Sacred Cows," became a bestseller, establishing him as a prominent financial educator. He spoke at major events and appeared on various media platforms. He built an Inc. 500 financial firm, eventually selling it to expand his impact through Multiplier, a program to help people grow their income and wealth without strict budgeting.

In 2017, Garrett’s family returned to Italy, celebrating their journey from poverty to prosperity. His mission now is to help others build lives they love and create lasting legacies. Garrett aims to empower one million families to achieve true wealth and financial independence.
