    Through experiencing his darkest moments and lowest valleys, Tony has emerged with a mission and vision to help others, especially men, to process their grief in a compassionate way that leads to empowerment and true self-knowledge.

Her house flooded, and the year just kept hammering her family with trauma after trauma… such as a shocking physical assault from someone she thought was a friend and with her children present… to the deaths of beloved family members including her brother-in-law and mom.

    Through it all, she shows us how she made life-affirming choices to help her heal, and has emerged with a stronger self, a stronger marriage family, and a determination to love herself to make each day count.

    As a child, Abby lived on the idyllic shores of a lake in upper Michigan and made a “summer sister” friend in Kathleen, whose family spent the season there. Their beachside girlhood shenanigans laid the foundation for a deep and lifelong friendship.

    Throughout their ups and downs, Abby and Kathleen remained close, until the disease of addiction compounded with mental health issues led to tragedy. In this episode, Abby describes how she was always there for her friend, even during the darkest, saddest moments including helping to plan Kathleen’s funeral, who was only 32 when she died.

    She tells us how she maintained her boundaries of emotional and mental wellbeing during Kathleen’s downward spiral… and reconciling that she couldn’t rescue Kathleen from the deadly grasp of alcoholism. Ultimately, Abby’s story is one of heartbreak and hope, and honoring the friend she will always miss.

    Unique was just a busy 20 year old college student when she got devastating news — she had multiple incurable, chronic neurological conditions that would make her disabled and rob her of so much of her independence. She lost her ability to go to school, go to work, and to drive in just a few short months. Now legally blind, she has had 17 surgeries and is on multiple medications to manage her conditions.

    Grieving the loss of the life and abilities you knew is not something we really talk about much, but need to, as Unique’s courageous testimony demonstrates. Unique brings her special and gracious perspective on this topic, and shares how despite her physical limitations, has been able to go on and lead a fulfilling life with a loving husband and young son. She is also an author, business owner, and has a foundation to help others who find themselves grappling with chronic illness.

    Unique is a gifted young woman who personifies grace and calm, overcoming adversity with humor and hard-won wisdom.
