  • What To Do When Your Marketing Is Completely Overwhelming
    Sep 20 2020

SEASON TWO, EPISODE ONE!! We're kicking off season two with a question I've gotten a lot and continue to get, which is" what do I do when my marketing is completely overwhelming??" We're breakin' it down in today's podcast.

Ash! Help! What do I do when my marketing is completely overwhelming??

I hear you, fam, so let's talk about it. The first question we have to dig into is WHY is your marketing so overwhelming. And it usually comes down to three reasons: Reason no 1: there are too many pieces of the plan! it's a lot to juggle and it's not sustainable to keep all the balls in the air! Reason no 2: you have a team to support you in your marketing...but it's still overwhelming and lots of moving pieces or reason 3: you DO NOT HAVE A PLAN and it's overwhelming because every month, every week you're starting from scratch and recreating momentum because you have zero plan.

So let's break these down and get clear about what to do about each of these.

FOR COACHES & CREATIVES: The 3 Types of Support You Need to Grow & Scale Your Service-Based Business

My coaches that are listening, my creative service providers that are listening - I"m so excited about this episode because it feels like a secret key. It's a key that took me a long time to even figure out how to use and when to use it and what for -- so I'm FREAKING OUT that we're basically cracking the code on air today.

So, this Key is basically the 3 different types of support you NEED to grow & scale your business as a service-based entrepreneur. So, I'm going to outline the 3 keys but FIRST, I want to make sure we're differentiating the terms "GROW" and "SCALE" because there is a huge difference.

  • Episode 14 - REAL Passion for Real Change in the World (The How & Why in Yo' Biz)
    Apr 16 2020

I believe that our companies, our businesses, are much bigger than just that. They're bigger than business, bigger than the world of entrepreneurship and business and consumerism that we're all apart of. And I want to talk about that.

I read an email from Paul Jarvis recently that talked about "passions" and being "passionate about business." I'm using "passion" with air quotes here.

Paul brought up a really interesting point about passion in the workplace. You have a lot of traditional employers that are trying to integrate and require this concept of passion in the workplace. "We want workers that are passionate about our company and values" -- ICK.

We see the same thing in the small business world - I'm super passionate about copywriting, or I love coding gorgeous websites.

BUT DO YOU? Listen, maybe you do. Maybe you enjoy your job. But enjoying something and holding passion for it are different things, and one is not required to have the other. And in entrepreneurship, I'd like to present an alternative to passion for what or how we do.

WASSUP FAM BAM! OMG, welcome WELCOME to the Rebel Marketing Club, formerly known as The Punk Yeah Podcast! This episode I”m going to take you into my lab and give you a peak behind the scenes of my rebrand and arm you with a potent little question you can ask yourself wehn you get stuck.

So, I have officially stepped away from and grown out of The Punk Project Email Lab. I will always always always love and cherish the name, but I could feel it was getting stale because a.) it really did not relate what I did AT ALL. OR even who I was and b.) it didn’t feel like MINE.

One of my very first business crushes was on Ash Ambirge of The Middle Finger Project, so after much toiling of my business name I settled on The Punk Project. It felt so resonate and appropriate, given that The Punk Project really was just ME rising to meet the challenge of following my inner rebel, my inner punk. And you know what? I DID. I fucking did and it made me grow so much and now I”m really stepping up and into what I love and am really fucking good at and I was ready for a name that better reflected all that.

  • Episode 12 - featuring Eryn Morgan, business strategist + success coach
    Mar 26 2020

Welcome back! Today we are talking all about CEO schedules also-known-as a “success schedule” - essentially it’s a way to structure your time in a way that suits your needs, your personality, your creativity, and the unique way that you like to work.

So, the CEO schedule is a reflection of what's most important to us.

I value creative freedom, down time to experiment and dream, and fulfillment in client work.

That was my “Biz AFTER Success Schedule” -- But my schedule BEFORE? Packed to the brim with client work (leaving me drained instead of fulfilled), no time for dreaming, and little time for creative freedom.

As it was now, my schedule proved that I valued staying busy, I found worth in productivity, and I wasn't prioritizing my creative projects, leaving me even more drained.

That's why it's important to consistently evaluate your CEO schedule.

1 - does it reflect your values and priorities?

2 - if not, how can you make it do that? (like I value growth, so I need space to implement new ideas and work on creative projects)

3 - how much time do you actually have available and how do you want to allocate that time?

for this one - it's super eye opening as it helped me get really clear on how many clients I can actually serve. this not only helps you cap your capacity, but it gives you a very real sense of scarcity and helps you price accordingly. There's nothing that makes you feel more crestfallen then "booking out your time" but falling tragically short of what you needed to make that month.

Setting a CEO schedule is one way to get off that wagon of overwhelm and into a role of actual profitability.

today on the show, I'm talking with the very person that taught me not only the value in a CEO schedule, but how to actually set this up for myself - my coach + business strategist - Eryn Morgan.

  • Episode 11 - Collapse Time and Make More of It In Your Biz
    Mar 19 2020

Welcome back to the show! Today’s episode is kind of a culmination of things I’ve learned - definitely piggy-backing over last week’s show on my 2019 Mighty Moves (and priming you for next weeks episode - OMG, listen until the end so I can share a little teaser of what’s coming next week).

Okay, so other than just the umbrella frustration that is Marketing for most people - the #1 thing that my clients, audience, and previously ME - I used to struggle with is TIME. The pressure of time, not having enough of it. Deadlines, sleep, juggling the duality that is being an entrepreneur and...well, a human. Especially as a mom.

Time is money, and more than that -- time is a RESOURCE. We prioritize what time we are given and trade it to live in those priorities. But sometimes, we fall out of alignment -- or feel blocked by circumstance to actually live in those priorities and set our time around them.

So this episode -- probably going to be a little shorter, is going to a rapid fire episode of ways that you can COLLAPSE TIME. I frikken love that phrase - COLLAPSE time.

It’s not just “make more time” - it’s “let’s accelerate you towards your future.” like, damn. That’s way more potent - and I don’t know about youuuuu, but I’ll take that over just “making more time.” Just because I have more time, doesn’t mean I’ll prioritize it. But COLLAPSING TIME, creating a wormhole from now and jumping straight to WHAT I ACTUALLY WANT. Taking a quantum leap towards my vision. Hell yes, gimme dat.

So, without further ado - we’re going to unload this rapid-fire round up of ways you can collapse time for yourself in your business.
