  • Ep. 42 - Nature as Medicine with Jodi Forestell
    Aug 28 2024

This week we sit down with Jodi Forestell, who educates us on the interconnections we have with the world around us. Jodi explains that what we put into our bodies daily has a greater impact both negatively and positively then we think.

Come with us on our journey with Jodi while we scratch the surface on what we can do in our own homes to be better each day.

Jodi is a Holistic Nutritionist (CHN), Metabolic Balance Coach, Forest Therapy Guide and fully certified with Canfitpro as a Healthy Weight Loss Coach, Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor.

As a holistic nutritionist she approaches health and healing from a whole-person perspective. Focus is on preventative health where natural foods and products are used to remedy the mind, body, and soul. Without judgement, she meets clients where they’re at on their health journey and strives to help people understand that nutrition and healthy living doesn’t have to be complicated and overwhelming.

“My mission is to guide and empower those who are ready to implement
sustainable lifestyle changes. I use the four pillars of health (nutrition, exercise, sleep & stress reduction) to help my clients dramatically change and improve the quality of their life.”

  • Ep. 41 - Who are we? With Hailey Green
    May 1 2024

This week we welcome the incredible Hailey Green to the podcast!

Hailey has been in the fire service for over three years, serving as a volunteer firefighter with a rural fire department until being hired full-time in 2022. Her brother is a volunteer firefighter and sister is full-time. She’s part of the Multiple Calls Podcast team which showcases firefighters’ journeys, the challenges they’ve faced, how they’ve made it through them, their ideas on how things can be improved and what keeps them inspired and motivated.

Hailey is passionate about firefighters' physical and mental well-being, resiliency, and lifelong learning, and has plans to focus on improving and increasing the availability of mental health services for first responders. She views failures as opportunities and is continually assessing her life plan to ensure it is moving in a positive direction. She encourages others to share this mindset, as there isn’t one correct path into this profession or way to live one’s life.

She spends her free time weight lifting and training for endurance events with the goal of completing a full marathon and progressing in the sport of triathlon. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, being active outdoors and is excited to pursue roles in teaching/mentorship and training first responders to be resilient and fit on and off-duty.

  • Ep. 40 - Mental Health and Mindset with Gabby Goodbrand
    Apr 24 2024

Coming along on our journey this week is Gabby Goodbrand, a champion of mindset, mental health and a deep thinker.

Gabby is a mom of two kids, a former school psychologist, and the owner of Goodbrand Fitness. She is passionate about using fitness to form connections, build community, and manage mental health. Throughout her own mental health journey, she learned the importance of mindset and uses social media to encourage and inspire other women to take care of themselves. Gabby uses her background in psychology to create unique, personal relationships with each of her members and support them beyond just their physical fitness. Her goal is to limit the barriers that prevent women from engaging in fitness so that it is accessible to as many women as possible.

Taking time out of her very busy schedule, we talk with Gabby about her thoughts on mental health, and mindset, but also her purpose and dedication to helping other women become the best versions of themselves in tailor made, specific (in person and on-line) programs that have shown huge results physically but more importantly emotionally and mentally.

  • Ep. 38 - The Next Step with Matt Devine
    Apr 10 2024

This week we welcome back Matt Devine, who fittingly was our first guest, and our first returning guest.

Why does someone who has nothing else to prove continue moving forward with purpose? What motivates them, despite the struggles and challenges to take another step forward, to ride over the next hill, even when they could simply take the easy way and no one would know.

This week we get to know Matt even better, and his up coming adventure across Canada from the East coast to the West coast, starting May 11th, 2024. Matt will be visiting 13 major cities on his ride, to take part in movement, and challenges with local people.

This ride is to highlight mental health, and his own struggles with it, and to raise money for Little Warriors and the Be Brave Ranch based out of Alberta, who allow children who have been survivors of child sexual assault, to begin to live again through their programs of awareness, prevention and treatment.

  • Ep. 35 - Invisible Backpacks with Jason Evans
    Mar 20 2024
This week we have the honour of welcoming Jason Evans along on our journey and have a powerful and meaningful conversation were we talk about vulnerabilities and carrying an invisible backpack.

Jason is a photographer, a Broadcast Systems Operator, and the founder and creator of the Shadows and Light Project.

After navigating a series of painful life events, Jason decided to step up and take a deeper look into the reasons why he lived small, hid his voice, and lacked integrity. Through various therapy modalities, and the support of a men’s group, Jason came to realize he was not alone. In March of 2021, the Shadows and Light Project was officially launched.

Jason’s goal for the project is to shine a light into the shadows we protect so fiercely as men, and to transform them into something positive. He hopes to inspire other men to normalize their vulnerabilities, and in turn contribute to the global co-regulation of what is true masculine strength.

Jason is a leather craftsman, avid golfer, son, brother, friend, and uncle.
