cool new version

loved book 1 first time i listened, the graphic audio was very cool but occasionally distracting. cant wait for book 2. the movie like experience continues finally get to listen to rest

Great story but terrible performance

This was a really great book. So great that I actually tracked down an old used copy so that I could finish reading it. That being said, the full cast performance just didn't work for me. I couldn't finish this audio book it was that bad. There is music playing in the back ground while the characters are speaking, some conversations are whispered and can barely be heard over the music. Aral's narration switches volume depending on whether he is speaking or thinking. Its sad because I've had other full cast audio books and didn't have this problem.
The story itself is great and the relationship between Aral and his familiar Triss is where this book shines. If you want a fun fast paced fantasy thriller then this book delivers. Just don't get the dramatized adaptation.
