The male narrator is terrible!

Such a shame because the story had me enthralled from page one! The world building and character development was absolutely amazing and I had no issues with the female narrator. However, once the male narrator began the whole book was ruined for me. He managed to make every word he read sound like one long run-on sentence. I could not tell when one thought ended or where dialogue began. My 8 year old would have read this in a more interpretive way than this professional narrator! I will be physically reading the next books.

Great Story but Performance Could have been better

I loved the story. I was very engaged from the start. But my biggest problem is the Male narrator. He was great for the most part I just did not appreciate hearing the breaths in the mic.

God I’m conflicted

Firstly, the story is EPIC. The characters are so likable and some are easy to hate. The world building could be better but having read the second book I know she makes up for that in the second book. All that aside MY GOD THE NARRATORS WERE AWFUL. The male just rushed through it in a very monotone way with zero emotion or effort. The female sounded way too… idk frail? Lacking? Not at all how I envision Tisaanah. Skip this and read the book.

Love the story…wish there was only one narrator

This is such a wonderful start to a series. But I hate it when they use multiple narrators. I wish all of it was read by the female narrator. The switch is so jarring it takes me out of the story. I listened to the Tissanah parts and read the physical copy of the book for Max’s when the narration changed each time.

Great story, male narrator isn’t great

The female narrator was great. The male narrator sounds like he’s in the middle of a panic attack- luckily he doesn’t have the majority of chapters.
