Publisher's summary

It's not easy being the only human at the Community of Species Government - and especially not when you're the rescue case. Two years ago, I was planning to go to college, have a wild time, then settle into a normal life. Instead, I was kidnapped, spent months being a test subject, was in hiding for nearly a year, and then found out that my whole existence is a science experiment conducted by the bad guys. It's definitely time to reassess.

My rescuers at CSG have been awesome...mostly. They gave me a job, a home, and a support network. But the whole demons, vampires, shifters thing is not easy to get used to. Especially when one particular vampire makes me want to take up stake sharpening for a hobby.

The thing is, teenage mentality or not, Andrew is a fierce protector. With the bad guys still on the loose, I need someone like that on my side. Plus, did I mention that he's not hard to look at?

As we race to find my former captor before he can find me, life takes another twist and upends my world all over again. This time, though, I'm ready - after all, I've got an 800-year-old vampire at my back. What could possibly go wrong?

HFN

I don’t like cliffhanger books, but I just figured out I don’t like “happy for now” either.
Cool and twisted story, this really is a series you have to have all. And in order …
The book was good and somewhat interesting, though it felt like it got wrapped up a little too abruptly.
Great narrator, enjoyable performance.

All about Andrew

Joel Leslie is my favorite narrator and Andrew is now a favorite character. He's been brought to life with such vivid flare that I've already cast him with Tom Hiddleston (w/ silver hair of course) and watched the entire book like a film in my head. The team interactions had me roaring with laughter. I'll listen to it again the next time I need a pic me up. Louisa Masters has my deepest (pockets- everything published!) gratitude.

Worth the credit

Really enjoyed the storyline and of course the excellent narration from Joel takes it to another level. Definitely worth the credit, can highly recommend and I am usually not a fan of paranormal.

Another good one

Andrew and Noah, they hate each other or do they…… There’s lots of humor, snark and heart. Tish is still sniffing around and he’s got some new friends. The magic really likes Noah and he’s learning all sorts of new things. As always, Joel Leslie was perfect! Worth a credit

Series story will draw you in.

I really enjoy reading the books, but I get more enjoyment out of listening to the audio books. which is the only time I can say that because I'm an avid reader and get a little bored with audiobooks because they move so much slower than I read. but I really enjoy listening to these I get hours of entertainment.

Great narration, not as good as first one

I like this series so far but the first one was definitely better. Joel does an amazing job narrating as always.

Full cast of characters, excellent plot

I love this series!!! This story focuses on Noah (human) and Andrew (vampire). Noah was the one they found locked in the bad guy’s evil lair at the end of the last book. He and Andrew have a snarky hate/annoyed relationship at first and it’s brilliant how Masters morphs that relationship into something a bit more friendly… The bad guy is still running amuck and the crew at CSG is using their resources and brains to try to capture him. Joel Leslie keeps the character voices consistent from the previous book, making the listening experience perfect! I personally love the mix of accents and dialect differences. Keeping up with 7or 8 individuals throughout an audiobook is rough with other narrators, but not with Joel! He’s fantastic at voicing the wit, snark, serious, and playful banter and infusing his voice with embarrassment or concerning just the right amounts. I highly recommend the audiobooks- I bought the whole series!
