Publisher's summary

Of the five contenders for power, one is dead, another in disfavor, and still the wars rage as violently as ever, as alliances are made and broken. Joffrey, of House Lannister, sits on the Iron Throne, the uneasy ruler of the land of the Seven Kingdoms. His most bitter rival, Lord Stannis, stands defeated and disgraced, the victim of the jealous sorceress who holds him in her evil thrall. But young Robb, of House Stark, still rules the North from the fortress of Riverrun. Robb plots against his despised Lannister enemies, even as they hold his sister hostage at King's Landing, the seat of the Iron Throne. Meanwhile, making her way across a blood-drenched continent is the exiled queen, Daenerys, mistress of the only three dragons still left in the world....

But as opposing forces maneuver for the final titanic showdown, an army of barbaric wildlings arrives from the outermost line of civilization. In their vanguard is a horde of mythical Others, a supernatural army of the living dead whose animated corpses are unstoppable. As the future of the land hangs in the balance, no one will rest until the Seven Kingdoms have exploded in a veritable storm of swords....

So much goodness in one Book.

I love this book. It proves yet again why the books are far superior to the show. So many great moments. Just start reading now! The night is dark and full of spoilers.

Great story, ok narration.

Overall the storyline is great, but the narrator does a couple annoying voices, especially for female characters. AUDIBLE 20 REVIEW SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY

Westeros forever

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Storm of Swords?

The end. Excellent wrap up- left me wanting more.

Have you listened to any of Roy Dotrice’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Phenomenal performance! Roy has a deep range of voices- young to old, female (a bit strange) and male. My only issue is that some pronunciation and voices tend to change from one book to another.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! I kept listening at work, and at home, beyond my commute so I could continue with the story line.

Any additional comments?

Would love to find additional works of this caliber.

An enjoyable series

I have really enjoyed this series. I typically cannot read multiple books in a series back to back without another book in between. I have read the first 3 in relatively quick succession and they have maintained my interest. The multiple story lines and character depth are excellent and keep my interest level. The narration is excellent.
