Publisher's summary

Of the five contenders for power, one is dead, another in disfavor, and still the wars rage as violently as ever, as alliances are made and broken. Joffrey, of House Lannister, sits on the Iron Throne, the uneasy ruler of the land of the Seven Kingdoms. His most bitter rival, Lord Stannis, stands defeated and disgraced, the victim of the jealous sorceress who holds him in her evil thrall. But young Robb, of House Stark, still rules the North from the fortress of Riverrun. Robb plots against his despised Lannister enemies, even as they hold his sister hostage at King's Landing, the seat of the Iron Throne. Meanwhile, making her way across a blood-drenched continent is the exiled queen, Daenerys, mistress of the only three dragons still left in the world....

But as opposing forces maneuver for the final titanic showdown, an army of barbaric wildlings arrives from the outermost line of civilization. In their vanguard is a horde of mythical Others, a supernatural army of the living dead whose animated corpses are unstoppable. As the future of the land hangs in the balance, no one will rest until the Seven Kingdoms have exploded in a veritable storm of swords....

Naughty Dog's postapocalyptic video game The Last of Us is a masterclass in storytelling. Celebrated for its complex ruminations on grief, morality, and redemption, this unique take on dystopia has maintained a steady fanbase since 2013. That following is set to grow following the debut of HBO's television adaptation—a breakout hit that sacrifices none of the emotional stakes or brilliant character work of its source material.

Roy Dotrice is awesome!

Sad that he won't be around for The Winds of Winter. He play each character so well. He will be missed.

Roy, the reader, does a great job and keeps the story moving.

Dotrice is a master

If you could sum up A Storm of Swords in three words, what would they be?

bloody good fun.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Arya Stark is the character that goes through the most harrowing of trials and faces each with Bravery and resolve.

Which character – as performed by Roy Dotrice – was your favorite?

Dotrice has such a titanic task in performing scores of voices, but I really enjoy is portrayal of Sam.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed often.

book 3 is amazing

loved it. I found myself skipping a few chapters for the characters whose tories are a little slow...but that doesn't take away from the explosive scenes throughout. Roy is a great performer. looking forward to the rest of the books.

GOD! These books!!

His books just keep getting better and better! Man! There just so good! I do hate how he ends them all on cliff hangers but that’s ok, it just really entices you to desperately read the next one as soon as your able! Definitely recommend you to read plus, the talented voice acting/performance is just so wonderful.

A Masterpiece

Most people who download this know that already. One complaint -Roy Dotrice’s voice for Missendei. I’ll still give him five stars because he’s so good with the rest, but the Daenerys chapters can be a little rough.
