Publisher's summary

Sometimes, humanity’s inner darkness takes a shape that you can punch in the face…

When magic came to the world the first time around, it gave humans the power to transcend all limits, but in the end, it became the tool that mankind used to destroy itself. And then, one man traveled back in time to try it all again.

A colony has been put on the moon, the deepest seas are being explored, and new miracles are being created every other day. Yet in the shadows lurks a group that has decided Earth and its inhabitants are doomed and has sold out to dark forces beyond reality.

Can Isaac manage to stay on top of everything—fighting monsters and playing peacemaker between factions of incredible power, all the while standing against those who represent humanity’s darkest impulses—or will the apocalypse punch back?

Great direction

keep the books coming, they get better with each one in the series. the story building is getting more complicated but still compact enough that details don't get lost because of too much information. love the idea and can't wait for the next one.

Awesome!!

the story was just as good as the previous books and well the story escalated quickly towards the end of the book and looks like the next book is going to be the last one of the series.

Still Kickin’ Teeth in

This series is still great! We’re winding down for the conclusion, but this book is not anywhere near as slow as the others are saying. If you enjoyed the previous ones and the mature passing of good writing, you’ll enjoy this entry too.

A bit slow but good.

Excellent continuation of this series. It was a bit slow for the first part of the book, but it picked up quite nicely at the end and resolved some issues.

kinda reaching the point of diminishing returns

This book has the standard explaining the System with science it's known for. We get some new characters introduced that are supposed to have large impacts on the world and story at large, but in my opinion we're very underutilized. The most action in the entire book is at the end, where the only real antagonists were beaten to the point that there are only a few members left and there are no real losses on the protagonist's side. The next book needs a major time skip to occur so that the are some actual stakes.

skills repeatedly repeated

constant repetition of classes and skills does not assist with story or character development

What the heck was that?!

Way to much of this book's time is used to repeat stats and their flavor text. The climate battle at the end is straight up bull crap.

Stats Galore

TLDR Great concept, lots of ranting about stupid people, waay too much of the book is reading the characters status out.

I saw a couple of reviews that didn't like his work as a scientist etc, but it was integral to the story and well done. That being said, this book constantly harped on how stupid people are, to the nth degree of harping. Another complaint is how much of the book got taken up by status updates and skill upgrades. I'd bet almost 1/3 of tthe book is just the narrator droning off skill upgrades, re-reading the same facts over and over. I'm used to Litrpg books doing this but not to such an obsessive degree.
