Charlie Bone’s power takes on a new dimension at Bloor’s Academy in Charlie Bone and the Castle of Mirrors. There is a new cast of characters, including Mr. Pilgrim’s replacement, Tantalus Ebony, and the mysterious new student Joshua Tilpin, who appears to be magnetic. Billy has been adopted by a mysterious couple and is locked up in an odd place called The Passing House. Meanwhile, Charlie and Olivia discover the secret of the Castle of Mirrors, and along with Uncle Paton, they must free Billy before it is too late.©2005 Jenny Nimmo; (P)2006 Random House, Inc. Great book, very interesting. Recommend for all ages, (more understandable for kids). It kept your attention throughout the book, which is a plus for readers who lack attention toward their book.

Great Book

The book is worth reading, and of course essential in the progress of the series, such as the importance of the Pet Cafe. However, it starts with a slow methodical presentation of a lot of back story, though it does not descend into dull middle-book syndrome. The CB series does weave together the situations and plotting of a lot of characters. CB does not have a Ron or Hermione, but does have a loose cloud of associates. Once the melee takes place at the Pet Cafe, then we are off to the races. I am disappointed, however, that despite the obvious, he can’t even link his missing pianist father with the attic piano virtuoso amnesiac.

Starts slow but finishes with intensity

I am enjoying relearning this world. The story line is cute and family friendly themes! I would recommend to young children or as a story time read where you read it to your kid.

We thoroughly enjoyed this book, as we have the others. It, however, seems to be a pivotal book, without some of the same charm as the others. Nevertheless, very important in the series!
