Best-selling author Cathy Marie Hake is critically acclaimed for her compelling blend of humor and romance.

When Todd travels to Virginia to bring his widowed mother to his Texas farm, illness alters his plan. Maggie makes a living by selling soaps and perfumes, using old family recipes. Marriage is the farthest thing from her mind—until Todd shows up on her porch, seeking help for his ailing mother. Maggie’s heart skips a beat. And when the handsome Texan proposes to her, life suddenly begins to change for the dark-haired beauty.

This book was well written and also well read, I enjoyed the fact that the personalities were life like in their struggles and conflicts and yet they find a way to work through them in God's way.

Another fabulous Cathy Marie Hake book (I have read all but one). I am never able to set Cathy's books down, whether reading or listening to them, I hold on to ever word. I saw that some had complained of the reads performance, especially in the voices, but I do not share that compliment, I think she did quite well. My one complaint is that the read was not familiar with the characters of Gooding, Texas (from previous books) and thus did not do their characters justice in depicting their voices. I speak specifically of Sydney, who is a well-bred English woman, but the reader depicts her (in voice) as a backwoods hillbilly.
This being said all in all it was a truly lovely story and I didn't want it to end.
