the author makes some strange choices throughout. Gorian dies to random bandits, this isn't the main character's first time out of candlekeep, the big reveal is spoiled by like chapter 3, jahira and Khalid's character is done dirty. trust me just play the game.

just a worse version of the Game

Would you consider the audio edition of Baldur's Gate to be better than the print version?

Can't tell, i haven't checked the written version.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the way it moves through the video game campaigns, and how it narrates the battles.
In addition, I really enjoyed Abdel's personality.

Which scene was your favorite?

It might be a spoiler, so spoiler alert here.
I loved that scene when Jaheira asks Abdel if knows who killed Khalid.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Into the Maw of Madness

Any additional comments?

The narrator is awesome! He probably makes all the difference, he gets really involved, in character, and makes the story so much fun.

I loved this book!!

This is a sufficient summary of the events of the first game and is overall well written. The only issue I take is with the reductive view of Jaheira who becomes more of a damsel as the book goes on. Hoping the next two titles remedy this.

great story, but....

It was hard for me to follow at times. it was partially because of the lack of transitions when talking about Abdel then to Cerovac.

It was ok

The narrator did horrible accents for each character. The main villain sounded like a cartoon Dracula and each woman was made to sound so whiny and weak. This book also made Jaheira out to be a clueless klutz and not the warrior she is. Just go play the game, don’t bother with this book.

Doesn’t really live up to the game.
