Now a movie starring Lucy Hale and Austin Stowell, USA Today bestselling author Sally Thorne’s hilarious and sexy workplace comedy all about that thin, fine line between hate and love.

Nemesis (n.) 1) An opponent or rival whom a person cannot best or overcome.

2) A person’s undoing

3) Joshua Templeman

Lucy Hutton has always been certain that the nice girl can get the corner office. She’s charming and accommodating and prides herself on being loved by everyone at Bexley & Gamin. Everyone except for coldly efficient, impeccably attired, physically intimidating Joshua Templeman. And the feeling is mutual.

Trapped in a shared office together forty (ok, fifty or sixty) hours a week, they’ve become entrenched in an addictive, ridiculous never-ending game of one-upmanship. There’s the Staring Game. The Mirror Game. The HR Game. Lucy can’t let Joshua beat her at anything—especially when a huge new promotion goes up for the taking.

If Lucy wins this game, she’ll be Joshua’s boss. If she loses, she’ll resign. So why is she suddenly having steamy dreams about Joshua, and dressing for work like she’s got a hot date? After a perfectly innocent elevator ride ends with an earth shattering kiss, Lucy starts to wonder whether she’s got Joshua Templeman all wrong.

Maybe Lucy Hutton doesn’t hate Joshua Templeman. And maybe, he doesn’t hate her either. Or maybe this is just another game.

This production includes a bonus excerpt from Sally Thorne’s next audiobook, 99 Percent Mine.

What a great story with fantastic male and female lead characters. I loved it from page one to the last page. In fact I listened to it all in one sitting. It is a good thing I am retired because I listened all night! It really is funny and sweet. I got aggravated at the male lead from time to time but eventually fell in love with him. I don't see how you can go wrong choosing this book. I is well worth the credit - I would even give two credits for it in retrospect. The performance was excellent. The reader does great male and female voices. You forget that she is the reader because she does not get in the way of the story - she just lets you live it.

Super fun book

At the start of this book, I was a little unsure about how I felt and then I fell in love. Lucy is my kindred spirit. A little weird, a little unsure, a little immature... I can relate to 100%.

The book is from Lucy's point of view and describes her relationship with Joshua. Her co-worker that she hates. They play all these little games without talking. Her end goal is to get him to smile and for her not to cry. Then she loses. She breaks down in front of him and it slowly starts to change their relationship and she starts to fall for Joshua... maybe he isn't as coldhearted as she thought.

I enjoyed the narrator. I could feel the emotion that Lucy was experiencing. I might have even teared up when her heart broke a little or was burning with embarrassment. The paintball scene was my absolute favorite. Lucy is so dramatic and had me rolling with laughter. This was a nice change of pace after reading several thrillers.

Even though I felt the ending was lacking and felt rushed, I gave it 5 stars. An epilogue would have been good to clear up some lingering questions.

Lucy is my kindred spirit - love her spunk
