More of an erotic novel

What a complex little book. My first impression when it was finished was WTF did I just listen to? It felt weird as the book was around 70% sex scenes between a minor and an older teacher who has a reputation for grooming students and performing BDSM on minors. His family loves and supports it, his co workers condone it enough to let it happen without really making an issue. It’s all bizarre. In that aspect even the sex scenes were brutally romanticized consensual etc it still felt weird thinking I was supposed to enjoy the sexual aspect bc it was just cringy to me personally.
However, I did choose to put that aside bc it is fiction. Instead I focused on trying to take a plunge deeper in if there was anything I could run through mind to make this book important enough to actually learn something from. Which I did. I think a big point in this book is how easy it is for a male to groom a young female and in that way how appealing it is to do so. The taboo of being caught. The masculinity that goes with protecting something or exclusively having use or access to something. The ability to turn a human and in this case a child into an object with their compliance. The power in grooming children is that they aren’t adults and especially abused children, don’t have the mind development yet to fully understand how influence or strong guidance can effect the outcome of an adult life. For instance as a child she’s seeing a man who reminds her of her father take the role of an adult character and a lover. Giving him essentially all the control but also with the severe love of a father she’s loved and lost and the first time experience of romantic love. When I think of it in that way it’s almost as if grooming is so easy and from the outside looks like a normal relationship and even if you asked both parties they’re “happy”. But I can’t imagine the child would ever truly have a normal time with relationships after this initial experience. The most alarming to me is the glamorizing or sexualization of children in relation to BDSM. This to me hits too close with americas large issue with sex trafficking and children’s safety in general. Did I enjoy it no, did I find it was really well written, not really. The narration was great tho and if you’re into erotic novels that slide on this scale of taboo then it’s for you. I personally would have liked a little more story. This book also teeters on the story of another book called “my dark Vanessa” that I would recommend and is basically this exact book but done more tastefully

So inappropriate and intoxicating.

I was hooked from start to finish. The narrators are amazing and the author is a gifted storyteller.

Taboo and Fabulous

This was a recommend read from a friend and I’m utterly thankful for it. This is a great book - hot and twisted. I will be purchasing more titles from Ms. Godwin. I most enjoyed the back and forth between the two characters to get an understanding of where they both were and how they complemented each other. The narrators were just perfect.

Just what I was looking for!!! the characters are great!! it was kinky and hot!!! the performance was great on both sides!!! though I'm gonna be looking for this Tad Branson!!
