About this listen
Anxiety - it's the worst: choking, stifling, smothering, tingling, panicking, brain cutting out, bad decisions. You're a human being, so you know exactly what's being said here.
Dr. Faith Harper lays it all out: what anxiety is, what it's good for - that's right, it's actually a necessary response that helps to keep us alive in bad situations - how to know when it's gone overboard, and practical tips on how to deal with it when it gets bad. This book is a lifesaver for panic attacks, breaking out of flight-or-fight-or-freeze responses, and for chronic anxiety. It's also good for folks who aren't daily burdened by anxiety, but want to better cope with those tough situations that affect us all. Listen to this and breathe!

Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

There are certain facts of life that we cannot change - the unavoidable "givens" of human existence: (1) everything changes and ends, (2) things do not always go according to plan, (3) life is not always fair, (4) pain is a part of life, and (5) people are not loving and loyal all the time.

Meh
Thought this would provide some kind interesting vantage point on anxiety. The narrator sounds like Microsoft Sam. I really don’t understand this “bro” trend with dropping the word “fuck” just to grab the reader’s attention.

Helpful but distracting
This is a very helpful book with great advice, however I’m not a big fan of use of profanity.. especially the “F” word. Some use of that word is ok. In some situations it makes me laugh because it’s funny. But sometimes it’s used too much to where I almost wanted to stop listening and I couldn’t take this seriously. Aside from that, overall it was a good experience.

Good but too much cussing for a mental health book
I thought the book was overall good, I learned some stuff I didn't know before. But like a bunch of the reviews said, there was a ton of unnecessary cussing for a book in this genre of mental health. It didn't seem as serious as it could have been and seemed more of a buddy-buddy approach.

An introspective peering
As someone with anxiety, paranoia, and MDD, I found this book very informative! It’s great at giving new perspectives and covers a plethora of ways in which better to deal with anxiety. Also even if you don’t have anxiety in a clinical sense it’s worth checking out to understand it. My only gripe was the seemingly random swearing. Compared to the random eloquent speech it kind of comes out of no where and breaks the immersion for me. I think it is a form of anxiety release for the author or could be the audience the author is trying to reach. That aside I enjoyed it a ton. 8/10

Good book, but stop swearing
Stop swearing. It was excessive and did not serve to emphasize the point. In fact it was distracting and curbs one from listening to this book out loud around young children.
