Helped refocus my life

I listened to this book because I have been experiencing anxiety and panic attacks. This book really helped me focus on what mindsets and actions I can take today to help walking down the path of mental health. I am so grateful for this author and would recommend this book to others.
*Important*
This book is not something just to listen to, instead be willing to do the work it asks from you. I found the steps laid out have a tremendous impact if your willing to try.

It's definitely worth checking out

The performer reminds me of Brain from the cartoon Pinky and the Brain. The information presented in this book gives you a good basic understanding of CBT and some added perspective. I was able to apply a lot of the techniques. I shared concepts with my wife, and the book got her attention as well. It helped us with our own personal little issues we were dealing with.
This isn't going to solve every problem or replace therapy if it is needed. It will give you simple explanations and techniques. The author is honest about the technique, gives great examples, and includes a small supplemental PDF.. It will point you in the right direction to self-improvement and being less harsh on yourself. Always invest in yourself. You're worth it.

Not exactly what I needed.

Did not enjoy the performance. I was looking for help in dealing with others with cognitive issues.

Narrator is stiff and dated

The content was good but I couldn’t get past the narrator, who is stiff and condescending.

Didn’t keep my interest

Not really relatable - I didn’t feel like he was talking about things that would help me.

Content was good, narrator was boring

Great content, easy to understand and apply. Very helpful to personal life with easy to add daily activity suggestions. Content in itself is very mental health focused and naturally a little dry, so the narrators monotone stuffy voice did not pair well with keeping reader engaged in my opinion. Will reread because content was so useful.

Helpful

Easy read and useful practices to implement to help with anxiety etc. This is entry level but cbt is supposed to be simple.

Where are the goodies?

The biggest problem I have with audible is the inability to access supplemental images and documents and other resources provided in the print version of the book, particularly in nonfiction. Can't a downloadable file or url be provided for accessing these files after purchase? The author refers to these items throughout the book and I just kept wondering what was the point of listening. Disappointed and annoyed.
