Dan Deadman is having one of those days.

After saving the grim and gritty alien city of Down Here from something big, mean, and mind-bendingly horrible, Dan is looking forward to unwinding in the closest available bar. Annoyingly, the universe has other ideas.

Instead, Dan finds himself investigating a cheating husband, two horrible murders, and the potential enslavement of everyone in the galaxy. With his caseload stretching his woefully limited detective skills, his car in pieces, and the whole "being dead" thing not doing him any favors, Dan has no choice but to ask his friends for help.

And that's when his problems really start.

Featuring motivational gangsters, predatory worms, and a whole classroom full of defecating infants, Dead Inside is the second book in the Dan Deadman Space Detective series, and the follow-up to the best-selling Dial D for Deadman.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author continues his humorous asides throughout it, while maintaining the suspense and adventure. Absurd at times, but always entertaining. another fun offering in this series. If this is your first introduction, do yourself a favor and read the first book first. They're better that way.

another fun offering

The story is hilarious and absurd. The narrator brings it to life masterfully. Alle's obvious literal mindedness is particularly charming in this entry.

Have Phil Thron narrate all the things.

Dove right into this one as soon as I finished the first book! Like I said in my review of the first book, I don’t know if I like the narrator or the story line more - it’s all just so enjoyable!

So great!

once again I just love the characters and the adventures they get up to. Thank you Mr. Hutchison for a great story and Mr. Thron for a wonderful performance. Best Shiz on audible!

Endearing, hilarious, absurd, fast paced, cracking good times!!! This sequel has it all! I’m not sure if the author and narrator understand what a powerful team they are!

I know I can’t get away with listening with one surreptitiously placed ear bud… found that out when I burst out laughing during a compliance meeting.😳🤦🏼‍♀️
Love the stories, the characters are so well rounded. Love how they all have these intricate little back stories that fill them out so nicely… plus the humor is perfect! Oh my goodness, Artur has such a lascivious sense of humor, juxtaposed with Dan’s deadpan, and Olli Dolls innocently ludicrous insights keeps me rolling the whole story!
Who knew a deadman, an Artur, and a trans -dimensional orphan could have the most beautifully crafted friendships and adventures. The character growth was quite touching and I admit… Barry (author) got a few tears 😭 and almost constant laughs.
Absolutely love this author/ narrator pair!
It feels like they are old friends who understand how to bring out the best in each others craft!

Another home run!
