Brilliant British thriller a winner!

A psychological drama by author Anna-Lou Weatherley and superb narration by James Lailey made this murder mystery an audiction I craved. There is much more to this book that kept me on the edge of my seat. And just who is “Kiki”? Expertly narrated by James Lailey (a new and now favored one for me) brings this tale to life with all characters’ voices, including female (sometimes that can be a nightmare). I look forward to more from Lailey. I bought this audiobook for $11. I save my credits for pricier books. Highly recommended with 🍒🍒🍒 on top.

Loved it

I loved this book. The narration was outstanding. All the characters and plot kept you on the edge of your seat. I will look for books by this writer and narrator again! The storyline and narration were outstanding.

Predictable but so good

So, even though I figured out who the antagonist was about 30% in, the writing of this book was still well done.

I enjoyed the thriller and the suspense, being able to root for detective Riley and his team. Being able to witness Dan’s growth from book one to book two.

I genuinely enjoyed this book. And I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series, soon.

Twists and turns

A little slow to get started but stick with it it’s very interesting. Lots of twists and turns.

Read if you have a narcissist or two in your life

This is the first novel I've read that does a good job of incorporating both literal and prosaic descriptions of narcissism and the extreme psychological, emotional, and violent damage they cause wherever they go. If you suffered physical or emotional trauma in your childhood, you have a bullseye on your forehead. Recognize its there, learn to recognize them, and get into therapy pronto, so you can start erasing that 🎯.
