Jack and I, we did everything backward. The day he lured me into his office - which was also the first day we met - he proposed. You'd think a guy who looked like him - a bit cold maybe, but still striking and very unattainable - would only ask the love of his life to marry him, right? You'd think he must be madly in love.

Lovely story, took its time to get to the point and yet still really lovely and satisfying:)

Part marriage of convenience, part fake dating, Jack and Rose got married without really knowing each other, each with their own reasons. Rose now has the chance to open up the coffee shop of her dreams, and Jack has the perfect woman on his arm to bolster his career. But life in close quarters can often open us up to giving more of ourselves than we plan!

This was a slow-burn, grumpy-sunshine love story told in dual pov. It was a slow read for me, and while I really enjoyed the storyline it took me a while to buy into the love story, or root for these two working out. Probably because the narration was just ok. This also featured a trope I don’t read a ton of but really loved: one of the MCs taking care of the other when they are sick!

This has been a book that has been on my TBR list forever. I was intimidated though as it is more than 500 pages. I finally took the plunge and I am glad I did. First off, I would have never guessed this was as long as it was. I flew through this. The author did a great job with pacing. I thought it was going to drag on and on, but I actually did not have any issues with it at all. I loved the slow burn romance and being able to watch the relationship between Jack and Rose. I loved them both. I love how distant Jack was, but how Rose slowly tore down his walls. I found myself asking out loud “what did he do?” as I was reading. You will know what I mean once you start reading. I was expecting a little more with the plot twists, but still loved every minute of this. Overall, I really loved this and need am adding this author to my need more list!

Cute Romance

if someone wants to learn how to have sex, there is a lot of passion and instruction. I got more than a little weary of the heroine who cried if she was happy. cried if she was sad, cried if she got angry, cried when she got sick. pretty much everything made her cry, yet she was supposed to be strong and self-sufficient. The romance and sex would have been better with a lot fewer tears. That would get old with a lover I think and it got old hearing about it.all the time. The hero spent their time together wiping away her tears.

See, tears, sex. tears.
