I don't know why nobody ever wanted me.

For real, I mean. My parents died when I was eight, and I spent the next 10 years hopping between foster homes. Let's just say, they barely did me any favors. I have got nothing. No job, no place to live and I have no one to be with.

Except...well...I do have DNA test results from a genealogy website. With close family matches.

It’s probably a stupid idea. A total long shot, really.

...I’m going to go and find them.

But then I met him. He is everything I have ever wanted. But he won't stop me from finding my kin. He is too old for me anyway. It's just a fling. Just someone to take comfort in until I can find my family members. Right?

Two men who have always wanted love and acceptance find one another in a small town. A great start to a new series. Jay is Bennett Wood clearing out his deceased mother's home and Joshua is there searching for a family he's never met. It's a wonderful journey watching these two grow closer. The narrator did a great job with the characters and with the story. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

He did a good job and the book was enjoyable however, the difference between voices was so slight it was almost nonexistent. This series could have been really good with two narrators.

What a fabulous story taken right out of today’s headlines. It had enough twists to make you not want to put it down.

I enjoyed listening to this book. Both authors are new to me and the story about a young man trying to connect with family (due to DNA results) drew me in. I wanted to learn more background information about Joshua and how he was connected to the brothers he met. Jay and Joshua both had to overcome internal turmoil to be together; both felt rejected by others due to different situations in their lives. By the time they realized they both wanted to work on being in a relationship, it was the end of the book. I hope that some of the loose ends that I wanted answers to are addressed in future books in the series. At the end, I was definitely left with a feeling of wanting more to the story and not expecting it to be at the last chapter.
The narrator did a great job with the storyline and kept me engaged. I plan to listen to more books narrated by Gage. #AudioBookObsession
