From Mark Greaney, the New York Times best-selling author of Mission Critical and a coauthor of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan novels, comes another high-stakes thriller featuring the world's most dangerous assassin: the Gray Man.

While on a mission to Croatia, Court Gentry uncovers a human trafficking operation. The trail leads from the Balkans all the way back to Hollywood.

Court is determined to shut it down, but his CIA handlers have other plans. The criminal ringleader has actionable intelligence about a potentially devastating terrorist attack on the US. The CIA won't move until they have that intel. It's a moral balancing act with Court at the pivot point.

The feeling of discovering that your favorite new listen is actually the start of a series is euphoric. That you can immediately hit play and re-enter a beloved new world, or love story, or era from history is a gift to the devoted listener. But how to pick just 100 of these unique and immersive listening journeys? We defined a series as having a minimum of three books, and—after some debate—we decided the titles had to be anchored in fiction. From YA to horror to historical fiction, from fresh voices to seminal tales, hours of discovery await.

Compelling Plot • Fast-paced Action • Excellent Narration • Complex Hero • Timely Subject Matter • Personal Storyline

That's my opinion at least. I understand that people don't have preferences and they are entitled to them. I don't believe however that should play a factor in the rating considering that 1) it's the same story no matter who is telling it, and 2) it arguably makes more sense for someone to tell their own story, especially when they are still technically alive. That's neither here nor there however. Court Gentry is still the same character. Same humor and grittiness. Same action etc. Never skips a beat. Can't wait til the next one.

Fantastic Point of View

This is an excellent book ! Jay Snyder is an excellent voice actor and you can CLEARLy tell if Court is ruminating to himself or speaking. Snyder is adept at doing multiple accents in both male and female voices. His subtlety brings Court to life Perhaps the negative reviewer needs a hearing check.

The story starts predictably but takes some twists and turns that I did not see coming. One part brought tears to my eyes when the Grey man gets an assist from unlikely places.

This is a great book that delves deeper into the psyche of anti-hero we love in Court Gentry!

I hesitated listening to this book because of the love or hate reviews on the different style. But I’m so glad I relented and got it. One Minute Out was great. When the first person narration started I instantly thought of the movie Sin City when Mickey Rourke’s character (Marv) was narrating the action. I had no problem going back and forth between the two styles. Without first person, we wouldn’t get great lines like “talking isn’t my strong suit, that’s why I tend to shoot people in the face.” I don’t know if people in Jay Schneider’s line of work win awards, but he should get one. And the description of the helicopter ride to the ranch, intense. I’m sorry that people didn’t like the 1st person style. I enjoyed it because I always think Court doesn’t talk enough and I like his humor and understated style. I guess the book did get a little preachy at times and maybe just a little sappy. But Court isn’t a robot, and this book shows it. It was great. So good.

Different, but different is good

I almost didn't buy this book because of all the negative comments about the change of style. I really don't understand why. You get right into The Grey Man's mind like never before. You feel the anger more intensely and see the methodology of the operations in finer detail.

Don't be discouraged by the purists! If you love the Grey Man series you will NOT be disappointed. Quite the opposite.

I LOVE the first person narrative
