Great Read

Loved it!! Great story, great characters and excellent narrator!! I can't wait for the next book in the series.

The book was spot on.

I have become a huge fan of this series of books. This is no exception. It is everything I have come to expect. I can't wait for the next in the series to be released.

Humorous and quirky

This mystery is just as humorous and quirky as the previous books in this series -- maybe a little too quirky. It requires a bit more suspension of disbelief. The characters are great, though, and Scott Ellis has really made these characters his. His performance is outstanding.

Read the earlier books first.

The entire time I listened to this book, I kept thinking how anyone who had not listened to the earlier books will be so lost. Mackenzie August has a circle of friends, some enemies, a love interest, and a child that you need to know the prior history of before you can fully appreciate what happens in this listen. If you didn't know Kicks, Mac's son, was a two year old, the conversations Mac has with him won't resonate (since Kicks sounds like a middle schooler in Mac's head.) And Marcus. Marcus played a huge part in how all the crazy gets resolved but who he is and what relationship Mac has with Marcus' kid is never explained. I liked the story but I knew the story. Seriously, don't start with this book.
