The season 1  Trailer, aka End of the Season 1 Reflection
I am recording the podcast trailer a bit later than I should have. I am approaching the 1st anniversary of releasing my first episode. I announced my 1st episode to the world on November 30th, 2021.   What I envisioned as a resource for my clinic patients has grown into a project I had no idea it would become. It has been listened to in 87 countries and over 3000 cities and downloaded almost 40,000 times.

Thank you so much for your listenership and support!

Looking back at my 1st year of podcasting, I want to record a reflection episode, but it probably makes more sense to listen to it before you start listening to the podcast. So I am including it at the end of season 1 and as a trailer.

  • How is fibromyalgia diagnosed?
    Nov 27 2021

Episode 2 - How is fibromyalgia diagnosed?
Fibromyalgia is a real, painful condition. The latest guidelines for diagnosis were published in 2016 and you can find them below. To be diagnosed with fibro, you need to have at least three months of widespread pain or pain all over with other fibro symptoms. Other conditions that may mimic fibro need to be excluded, but you can have fibromyalgia  along with other painful conditions, like degenerative disease, chronic back pain, and autoimmune conditions, as well as sleep Apnea and depression. Is it not a diagnosis of exclusion. Accepting the Fibro is real is necessary for your successful treatment.

great resource

I have found this podcast to be so validating, while also being so direct and educational. Dr Pinkston is really knowledgeable and very compassionate in her delivery. I really feel like I have more tools in my tool chest to help me in my fibro journey. It has given me a glimmer of hope that I so desperately have needed. I recommend this podcast to all of the Doctors I see and to others suffering with chronic pain like me.

Great Summary to Share

After listening to this episode, I sent it to my husband. I’m new to fibromyalgia and found it to be a good overview of what I’m dealing with and she does much better explaining it than I do.

Dr Pinkston speaks with knowledge and compassion

This podcast is a good and succinct education about fibromyalgia. I’m not sure if I have it, so I didn’t want to read a whole book. After an hour and several podcast I learned the disease, self care and treatment and that was what I was looking for.
