    Last year Nelufar had an abortion. The decision to terminate her pregnancy wasn’t difficult, but the process was. Though studies show abortion pills are safe and around 95-99% effective, in Nelufar’s case, they didn’t work. Shaken by her experiences seeking what should have been routine healthcare, Nelufar turns to full-spectrum doula Sara Bakr for rituals to help her heal from the trauma of medical gaslighting. At a farm and retreat center in the English countryside, Sara and the community who live and work there support Nelufar to process and move on from the experience.

Healing medicine for those who have had abortions

This podcast should win awards galore. FINALLY the reality of Abortion - past, present, and future - told from a wide variety of POVs, from everyday folks who've lived through an abortion, as well as from the Reproductive rights workers fighting to keep abortion safe and legal. As a woman who was able to have a legal, safe abortion 20+ years ago, I find most episodes therapeutic. My decision to have an abortion was difficult and what followed for me was unnecessarily traumatic and isolating. Overturning Roe has brought that PTSD to the surface and this podcast is somehow managing to soothe my soul (along with a great therapist). There's also loads of information on where / how to channel your anger and pain into action. You can imagine the work going into producing this highly impactful podcast, and rest assured we are a powerful force, and we will ultimately win this fight for Abortion Rights for ALL! Best podcast of 2022.
