Really enjoyed this. Will look for book 2. Also pretty glad to learn of Shawn Compton. New voice to search for!

started slow and got better and better!

it took me a while to get into the groove of overdrive. after a bit it clicked for me and really enjoyed the game world and characters. I can't wait for book 2 on audible!

new genre

i was given a free copy. I gave up the first time I started listening because the beginning was strange. it went directly into a fight scene with no context. but I pushed past it and i am glad I did. this should be a new genre called VR gaming

solid story opener

This is a solid story opener, introducing the reader to what the world is, and explaining the "game" without clogging up the narrative with a bunch of statistics. I enjoyed it, and am excited fornthe next installment.

Good well written story

This is a good story. It is easy to follow and it mixes the game with real life struggles across the three books. I found myself wanting to keep listening. If you like mecha this will be fun. It has a variety mecha and the in game action is fun to listen to without getting bogged down in stats.
