My father once told me, above all else...live and die for Sparta.

Honor. Loyalty. Duty. These were the things that mattered most.

And then Axios came into my life, teaching me other lessons: Humility, brotherhood...love. There were moments when the brutal training stripped me of my humanity, where it turned me into a mindless beast of flesh and muscle set to destroy everything in my way. But then Axios stood in my way, ever vigilant, never failing to bring me back to myself.

Love had no place in Sparta, they said. It made you weak.

So why did I feel stronger with him by my side?

Eryx: A Spartan Tale is a historical gay fiction featuring a love story between Spartan warriors.

How this book had me crying more than the first, I’ll never understand 😭

Reading the first one, I questioned Eryx’s love for Axios… but getting his POV in this one??? 🥹 completely changed everything. How did I ever doubt it?? Every emotion, every choice this book filled in everything the first one was missing.

Honestly, it felt like the bandaid I didn’t know I needed.

And the ending… I know some people won’t call it a HEA, but it absolutely is in my book. Not even a spoiler if you read the first one but when Axios is slain and Eryx shields him with his body 😭😭😭 I was DONE. And somehow, seeing it from his POV made it even more beautiful.

That glimpse of them in the afterlife?? Ugh. Perfect.

10/10 exactly what I was looking for 💔✨

I think it’s a good story. I wasn’t expecting it. You can imagine each of the characters through the story. My only concern is that one of the “teachers” had a Scottish accent! I really don’t think that would have happened.

Surprising

Such a great story that immerses you in another world and another time. A beautiful story of love and loss. It has me pulling up maps of ancient Greece and making travel plans. It's the kind of book you miss once it ends, and long to hear about all the characters you've grown to love. I read them backwards i guess. Didn't realize Axios is the first book in this story. So I'm off to buy it now and relive the tale again. Just Wow, I've been wanting a book this great for a while!

Epic and wonderful

This book was so hard to get through because I've read the 1st one from Axios perspective but it was interesting to see the story from Eryx's point of view. And at least the ending had a light at the end. " In this life and the next."
