First in a new series and it packs a punch

This is a great addition to the science fiction, gamelit, LITRPG, game world genre. We have a character in our world who shouldn’t really be here. He left his game world to come to ours and live a normal life. That is made impossible when old enemies and allies surface and drag his life here to ruin. Forced back into his old world he finds many changes have taken place and that he now just start over in a rather precarious position in a body not yet ready or able to handle the power that his knowledge and his past brings with it. New alliances are formed and battles are joined. Well written and narrated and this promises to be a very good series with much room to grow and many histories to return to. Promising beginnings

Really strong concept. I feel the premise has a lot of potential and hope that it gets explored further. The characters are interesting and I want to learn more about them, too. Essentially, I want more. The narration is expertly done and adds to the story.

Couldn’t put it down.

Audiobooks usually take me a while to get through, I’ll listen to them an hour at a time. But I shot-gunned this one, staying up late to hear the entire story. Masterfully done, Alex on the story, and Steve for making the characters so real that I got completely lost in it.

Great

This was such a great bookfrom start to finish. Love the story and being reset. Love the bright system. Only complaint is me wanting more!

Short but to the point

A little on the short end for an audiobook for me but the story didn't waste a lot of time with much filler. It quickly establishes the world, sets up the narrative and then dunks you right into the middle of the plot while keeping enough hooks to make you want the next novel. I didn't think there were major issues with the plot and I'm excited to learn more about the world and system that's been set up in the novel.

This is the first time hearing this narrator and I have to say I'm impressed. He was definitely a solid choice and has a lot of range and potential. I look forward to see what more he brings to this series and series to come.

Good Short Story

This is a nice start to a new series. it is well written with an interesting premise. Honestly, the only thing I really would have wished for is for it to be a bit longer. I feel that could have allowed for deeper character development and flushing things out more. I am looking forward to seeing how well the other books accomplish this.

Great narration, as always, by Steve Campbell. He always performs with good energy and emotion, bringing even more life to the tale. If you are familiar with his work, he keeps up the standard here. If you are new to his work, dive in and enjoy. :)

Good promise to a new series

The premise of the story combined with excellent narration gives the series good hope.

Pros:
-Fantasy and Sci-fi elements blended well
-Steve Campbell narration

Cons:
-Story 1 felt like it had no real climatic moment
-Short. Very likely books 1-2 could have been combined.

Excellent Series Starter!

OMG! This book's so freaking good! Solid story with a very interesting mix of characters. I couldn't stop listening. It kept me engaged from start to finish.

Steve Campbell was just simply amazing. His narration for this one's really impressive!

Definitely worth a listen

Always a fan of Steve’s Campbell, And I really like the storyline. I really like it when strong characters have to build themselves back up. I was a bit confused by the whole bright system but not enough to take me out of the book.
