Publisher's summary

One rescue complete. Forced onto an unwanted path. Tytan and the Moeru-hi fight back.

Saving Rair had a steep price; Tytan and RJ are separated from their loved ones and only have a short time to recover before they must embark on an even more dangerous mission.

Racing back to Kraydon to save the sacred Lanthian, Tytan is brought to the razor's edge of sanity by the Mara's torture of Sin and Anders. Time is again running out for the Bright Lord and those he loves.

"To kill a god, you must become a god," echoes in his mind. There's only one problem.

To save everyone, to achieve apotheosis, Tytan must first die. For good.

Excellent Character and World Building

I can’t believe that I started and finished this yesterday. I had a migraine and I was having trouble focusing on anything, so I thought I’ve enjoyed this series so far, let’s put it on and see how it goes. I didn’t expect to look up at almost 2am as the end of the book played. Knowles really knows how to grab my attention and keep it for hours on end.

The Bright Fight was another great book in this series and one that I obviously enjoyed since I finished it in one day. I know that some people aren’t a fan of shorter books like this, but when you read as much as I do, I need books that jump around in length so that I can split up the stories and remember them. I also need a “win” from time to time, and by that I mean a shorter book that I can get through quickly. Knowles has provided that but hasn’t held back on any of the action or entertainment. I’ve gotten more of that out of The Bright series than I have out of 18 hour stories.

The thing I’ve called out in the first two reviews was Knowles’ ability to create and make interesting characters. Now, we’ve met most of the people in The Bright Fight, but we were introduced to a new character in this one more than half-way through it. And once this specific character was created, I instantly felt like I was transported to the Dragon Mage and Clockwork Chimera words created by Scott Baron. I know part of it was because I was tired but suddenly I was like “wait, this really reminds me of the world that Baron built“. Now, I say that because of a specific character that was introduced and because I haven’t read a world that was as well described as that one in a while – but it’s high praise in my eyes.

The Bright Fight wasn’t action-packed but it wasn’t lacking either. Knowles did a good job of going through the personal stories and introducing some more lore into this world. I could tell that things were going to be winding down in some ways and amping up in others. I like that and I thought that the ending, even though it was still a bit of a cliffhanger, was excellent and leaves things in a place where I could write my own ending in my head, or better yet, continue on with this series as Knowles writes them.

Great continuation

The story's writing keeps getting better and better as it advances. The only thing I view as lacking is the narrator's ability to express emotion where I feel there should be just doesn't show up

Great Story!💜

Alex Knowles is killing me one book at a time. I’m not a fan of cliffhangers, particularly when I have to wait for the next book. That said, I’m in the series now and I’m so glad because it’s a great one. In this story, friendships are made, alliances are formed and the enemy is everywhere. Hah, no spoilers here. Fantastic continuing story and I can’t wait for more.
The narration was absolutely brilliant. Steve Campbell’s voice acting skills are really showcased in this series and all books in this genre. He makes it easy to distinguish between characters even the male and female characters as well as feeling all the emotions. This is book 3 and does continue into book 4.
I highly recommend this book/series.

great continuation of the story!

Good story and narration!

Things continue to heat up as the bright Lords gathered their strength, and look to rescuing their allies! Evil experiments have been being performed on their captured friends and it will take everything that they have to be able to rescue them!

Steve does a fantastic job with the narration!

If you like the previous books in the series then you will enjoy this one as well!

I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Fantastic Continuation!

I really enjoy listening to the whole series. This installment was really fantastic It got more action, more discoveries, more training, and a good amount of intrigue and drama. Alex Knowles really knows how to subtly tug and crush one's heart. I have ugly cried in every book. LOL.

Steve Campbell's narration was just super impressive. He's really a talented performer. Bravo!

Another great addition

Really fun concept with an epic feel. I like that our MC is becoming more and more useful. There are some surprising additions to the crew. We also encounter a big obstacle in our biggest antagonist to date. The narration was solid.

Only held back by shortness

First, I am really enjoying the overall story and the major characters. It is a fun idea with the potential to be an epic story. With that said, I also have to admit I am increasingly feeling the pinch of how pared down things are. Too many things get glossed over to the point where I am like "wait, that's it?" Folks are mollified by a brief statement without basis for it to carry much meaning and so many things are just accepted by everyone, seemingly without explanation. This is still a good story and at first I thought it would feel like bigger books split in smaller pieces. There's a bit of that feeling too, but mostly it just feels condensed. I guess it feels like the good story is an abridged version of what would have been a great story.

Narration by Steve Campbell is still strong and definitely adds more to the book through his performance. Attention to emotions in the book can be quite brief at times, so it is a good thing Steve's voicework offers a bit more impact to help keep listeners engaged.

still pretty good

this one is somewhat of a layover book, as in you have to go here to be able to go where you need to go in the next books but it's not as fulfilling as the previous books in that the book doesn't have a defined start and end, but mostly sets up what we are going to need...
however that doesn't stop the book from being good, just means that the previous ones were great.
if you've enjoyed the ride so far you will enjoy Bright Fight
