Great story!

Love this book and how it sets up the series! I really like Emerson and all the guys! I love the differing personalities of all the guys and how they counter and balance each other! Love the narrators and the life they bring to the characters! My only complaint is that they don’t tell us which of the male narrators read for which characters.

Obsession at its finest

I enjoy led this story even though I felt kind of lost at times. It was like being dropped into the midst of a series but not. There is a lot of character build up and setting up a big reveal. The obsession these men have for Emerson is wild. It’s like they have been pining for her for years, setting up this elaborate “kidnapping” but that’s not the case at all. It is obvious that there is definitely a lot to come in this series to fill in blanks and have things make sense. I did enjoy the story and I look forward to getting into the rest of series. The narration was great. Brooke is one of my favorite female narrators bc of her ability to really get you in the head of the FMC. Toby and Noel are newer to me. I’ve done 1 other thing by both of them. They are also great at really getting into their characters and depicting multiple characters as well. I look forward to seeing what happens after that cliffhanger.

slow start but. .... Amazing story

It starts a bit slow but it's one of the best series. a tough little flower growing into a thorny rose and a few rugged guys. great story and great performances. definitely recommend to listen

Good!

Great storyline! I am currently on book two and the story is still unfolding. There are still some unanswered questions from book one that I'm eager to learn about as I listen through the books in the series. I like the storyline of this crew/gang and how their fates entwine with the FMC. I think this RH has 7 MMC's!!! Holy cow we shall see how that pans out lol. I found the FMC's personality likable and majority of the MMC's are all so sweet and kind to the FMC from the moment they meet her. They are all very protective of her, definitely the opposite of a bully romance (or at least so far). I think there's two or three spicy scenes in book one and two which are about a 3 of 5 in my opinion.

My only gripe is the male narrators. They sound so much older than males would sound in their 20's and they chose to do this 1920's/40's mobster/thuggish accident which I am totally not feeling.. it just sounds so outdated. Both of the male narrators do a good job acting its just the accidents they chose makes me cringe. Female narrator is one of my favs. Also the new male narrator (third one) added in book two is awesome, his voice and tone sound a lot more age appropriate for these character. And I dont know what's up with MMC Freddy (I think that's his name). Didn't he have a southern accident in book one and now we are back to 1920's mafia accident for him in book two, not sure what happened there.!?

although I was weary at the beginning, the more I understood what was actually going on, the more I loved the book. You can't help but start to like guys too. Even Jasper!
To the Narrators: Awesome job! Looking forward to Book 2!
