Better than a second Christmas

I love this series. The third book ended on a brilliant (and tragic) cliffhanger - one I couldn’t begin to resolve on my own - so I’m up and listening to book 4 as soon as it came available (at 2am local time, lol). I’m already eagerly awaiting the 5th installment.

Got too political

If I wanted to hear American hating politics, I would of chose that style book. Not the place to put it. It took away from the story line/immersion into the books world/universe.

Pretty good

It's a "meh" kind of book. The book had some entertaining parts but the majority was a bit dull. I found that the political talk and woke parts took me out of enjoying the book.

Barely Believable

He has been hinting at this idea that Jason’s moral subjectivism is objective truth in one way or another. for what reason is the reader supposed to agree or disagree with his decisions? Book 1 Shirtaloon describes Asanos reasoning as sometimes you just know something is wrong. It is an appeal to a cultural moralism in this case the culture would be his sister.
After learning there are beings with vast knowledge and power,gods/astral beings,he champions his own belief system over one that he shouldn’t be able to comprehend. (god’s are very 2 dimensional characters).
There is too much ambiguity in moral choices
Hanging out in ambiguity shows lack of movement in character development and laziness in the author to not be able to describe right and wrong in his world. What makes Thadwicks actions wrong and Jason’s right? We have Jason making what he thinks his reasons are but over and over again we see him failing morally in his own eyes the reader has no reason to trust this inner dialogue.
Jason is also spotless in the realm of social justice. He never steps out of line with modern social justice reform a perfect saint by today’s standards. Which also makes him two dimensional. Power system is stale and I waited for a long time to get past the moral wrestling and to the actual story. I’ve been with you this far mate but this is where I hop off cool intro though.

Disappointed by book 4

The first three books were great, they had good pacing and were building tension and were filled with many adventures. This fourth book was disappointing because the pacing all but stopped, the tension was gone, and the story seemed like filler material.
There was more family drama than anything in this book. I’m all for character development but most of it was boring for me.
Please get the main character Jason back on track advancing his rank to deal with all that has been piled on in book 4.

Great series

This book just adds to a great series. Not a full minute with this story.

I need MORE

I am not even done with the book and already fear the end of it and the longing for more. I want it all. if that is 100 audiobooks, sure I will get a second mortgage and a third if the quality is like this.

Seriously, I am going to be cramming other series as fast as I can to try to distract myself. Fantastic job on the writing and superb audio performance
