‘Fabulous, cosy, mystery… Wonderful… Absolutely perfect for fans of Richard Osman!’ NetGalley Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Introducing the three unlikeliest sleuths you'll ever meet…

Every Thursday, three retired school teachers have their ‘coffee o’clock’ sessions at the Thirsk Garden Centre café.

But one fateful week, as they are catching up with a slice of cake, they bump into their ex-colleague, Topsy.

By the next Thursday, Topsy’s dead.

The last thing Liz, Thelma and Pat imagined was that they would become involved in a murder.

But they know there’s more to Topsy’s death than meets the eye – and it’s down to them to prove it…

Sit down with a cup of tea and this perfectly witty, page-turning cosy crime novel. Fans of Agatha Christie, Death in Paradise and Midsomer Murders will be hooked from the very first page.

I absolutely loved this. I'd already listened to a couple of the later ones (#3 and 4) and then came back to listen to the first two in the series. I'm from the Lancashire/Yorkshire border area, so both the words and the narration sound like home to me. I love the main characters. And the interview at the end between the narrator and the author is worth a listen to hear the inspiration for the story. I could sadly relate .... Julie Hesmondhalgh is a legend. A great actress and activist (and thanks Julie for all you've done for the Oldham Coliseum).

Fabulous characters, outstanding narration

I don’t want to deter others from reading or listening to this series. It has all the ingredients for a good, rainy day read. I may try it again- we’ll see. Like I said- it is a listen for a day when you have time to just sip your tea in peace and become one with your reading chair.

I'm sure this is a well written cozy mystery but the story matter is too sad for me. I couldn't finish it.
