13th Paladin - Amazing Series

I just finished listening to the entire series and I can say not one book was disappointing. Gildart Jackson does an amazing job narrating the series.

The writing makes you feel like you are there next to Ahren, Falk, Culhen, Khara, Uldini, Trogadon, Jelninolan, and all of the Paladins as they battle to save the world of Jorath. There are so many characters and by the end of the series you feel like you know each one personally.

You travel through this amazing world that Torsten Weitze created meeting wonderful characters and having exciting and thrilling adventures. You will go on an emotional roller-coaster with the characters experiencing the highs and lows with them. There is humer that will make you laugh, some romance as well as some heartbreak,

The biggest disappointment is that after 13 books there are no more adventures to go on with this fun and diverse group of adventurers, ancients, and warriors.

Great series

Better than I expected. Can’t put it down. It does follow the same young kid grows up to save the world but it’s one of the better ones. The characters are likable and the story is good. Gildart Jackson does a great job also. Even his dog voice is what I’d expect from a dog for some reason. There’s a lot of books and I’m only finished with the first 3 books and I hope they’re all as good as this.

Great deal on a good story

Great narration and engaging story and characters. Entertaining and part of my daily listening schedule! Reconmend

Worth the listen

The story reminds me of a mixture between The Hobbit and The Ranger’s Apprentice series. The author does a great job of keeping the story interesting and engaging. The fact that it’s sold in a boxed set is a great deal in my opinion.

Good, but predictable.

The series is solid but there are a lot of eye rolling moments of predictability. The group performs a “counter ambush” of bandits who were following them and long before it began I knew zero bandits would die. Letting murderous bandits go because killing them would hurt your poor widdle feelings isn’t honorable, it’s self absorbed moral cowardice. The proper lesson would be for the protagonist to run off to help bandits only to succeed and lose one of his friends. The lesson of “doing stupid and impulsive things can never go truly badly if you believe it’s good” is a childish one
