This funny opposites-attract lesbian romance digs up the awkward truth about what really matters in life.

Ambitious ice queen and corporate lawyer Felicity Simmons has spent her life focused on one thing: scuttling up the career ladder. She's achingly close to taking charge of a media empire for her boss when she's sent to investigate a South Bronx charity that helps homeless people's pets. Has the charity made off with her boss's generous donation? And, who on earth is that gorgeous soft-butch veterinarian who looks as if she could toss a Shetland pony over one shoulder? Not that Felicity has any interest in some opinionated Amazon or her adorable fleabag of a dog.

Felicity is quite sure she will not be distracted, thank you very much. She has a minor mystery to solve, a mentor to impress, and her life's dream to fulfil. Even if a distraction might be exactly what she needs.

The Awkward Truth takes place during the last half of Lee Winter's The Brutal Truth but can easily be listened to as a standalone story.

I truly enjoyed this story and the narrator. It had me laughing, cringing (appropriately), steaming, and swooning.

Funny, awkward, and sweet

This whole other side of the life of Felicity was so refreshing! Her character definitely stood out on “ The Brutal Truth” and I’m so happy to have been indulged with so much of her backstory and new perspective on life & love and everything . A must listen ! I had read the book but couldn’t resist the audio version.

Longes winning streak ever …

I loved the book, adored Felicity greatly, so the way Dawe brings her to life had me totally enamored. I didn't mind at all revisiting Elena's utterly sexy voice, either. But Dawe has Felicity stealing this show completely.
Another winning Winter/Dawe duet.

I loved this narrated book. Lee Winter knows exactly how to string words together in her stories. The narration was pretty good too. The apprentice of the renowned ice queen herself finds her compassion and kindness in unlikely circumstances. Bravo Miss Winter.

This one was cute. I’m sure it was difficult writing a sequel to such an amazing book, The Brutal Truth. It definitely doesn’t reach the same altitude as TBT did for me but still excellent. If you liked TBT, you’ll like this one.

I honestly think this was one of the best narration jobs I’ve heard from Dawe. She is so good, it’s always difficult to listen to another narrator after one of her books.

Lee Winter is my favorite author in the game. Her stories are addicting and extremely precise. The attention to detail is what I love. Not a majority of the text dedicated to MCs thoughts. I hate when an MC in a book spends too much time on their thoughts… going on and on about what they’re thinking and not enough dialogue between characters. Lee Winter is masterful with her words that I am always super engaged.

Excellence, as usual for Lee Winter/Angela Dawe
