Being the False Hero isn't easy. Constantly hounded by soldiers and fanatics, never sure when the next casual encounter will lead to another life-and-death battle. When the ones seeking your life are too weak to even pose a threat, killing them will only turn you into exactly what they claimed you to be all along. Lutz can only flee, keeping ahead of his pursuers, his eyes locked on his final destination.

The journey to the elven lands was long and difficult, but Lutz and his companions have finally reached it. But will they accept the False Hero into their lands? With the human kingdoms who seek his life at his back, Lutz doesn't have the luxury of many other options.

This has been one of my favorite fantasy series. The characters are well developed and it's a joy to see their mysteries slowly revealed all while more mysteries come to light.

The cliff hanger ending has me anxiously awaiting the next book. Please don't keep us waiting.

They just keep getting better

I suspect the author wanted to slow the MC's progression in this book. This book does a lot of build up for book 6. still a huge fan of the series. Just don't want the writer to get away from the growth that made this novel favorable. Now that the MC is giving away all his talents and secret weapons to everyone for free he will need to outpace that.

Still very good.

I’ve listened to every book now. I have to say that mason is by far one of the most exalted of all. The performance for these book got better an better. This last edition was his best performance yet. The short moment with sound effects really nice touch. Only wish there was more. Can’t wait to hear volume 6. Really hope Michael turns this amazing series when it is finished in to a anime. Keep up the amazing work. Both of you!

Most of the story line is alright but I constantly get reminded that this book is really closely related to a PG-14 anime, sure there’s a little blood here and there, but I keep thinking to a questionable fact, the mc is a 33 year old with a 15 year old body and is surrounded by little girls and they all have some type of crush on him except one is 19 but still looks like a little girl, and there’s the random obliviousness to obvious answers or situations but acts as if it’s a CSI mystery, the playfulness is enjoyable but in my opinion this book is made for kids and teenagers, and then there’s little girls thing that makes it uncomfortable to read but the story interesting somewhat but I’d still say Shield Hero is better.

It’s an alright story line
