Inspired by the myths and folktales about Asmodeus from The Book of Tobit.

“Blood was spilled on the holy land, for the worst kind of lust was driven by the desire for God.”

Lace, white, everything frilly and pretty. The theme to Sara’s life used to be that of a princess, one she romanticized. But when her previously perfect world turned upside down, Sara became convinced that she was cursed. She hid herself in the shadows to spare others from the agony she brought along.

The only person she could never hide from was her adopted brother.

Tristan Marcolf wasn’t the run-of-the-mill rich and successful politician. It was his ethereal good looks that left others bewildered. So much so, they wondered if his looks were a gift from God. Only the cursed gift gave Tristan everything he wished for, except for the one thing he truly desired.

His adopted sister, Sara.

Tristan unravels as Sara starts to slip out of his grasp and into the arms of another. With Tristan’s unquenchable thirst for her spiraling out of control, he gives into the demon inside and makes an unforgivable mistake; one he cannot take back.

Loosely based on the story of Asmodeus, the Demon of Lust, who loved to play with mortals. Asmodeus orchestrated settings to prove to God that humans would choose pleasures of the flesh and materialistic desires over the simplicity of love. The two souls set out to prove him wrong and humble his vanity, but rarely do demons give in without a fight.

There are no heroes in this book, only villains. It consists of explicit content and dubious and graphic situations that some listeners might find offensive.

I can safely say these two narrators made this story come alive. I absolutely loved the dual point of views. After hearing the book I know quite a few parts that I missed or didn't make sense when I read it. I loved these two narrating this story!!! Tristan and Sara may need another book down the road, just saying. Great job Drethi!!!

LOVE THIS STORY!!!

Drethi Anis writes a beautifully well-written story of beauty and brutality intricately intertwined into a truly unique and unforgettable plotline. The character development is awesome. Tristan is ruthless, dominant, deadly and terrifying to whoever dares to cross him with a soul-deep love for Sara. Sara is passionate, innocent and caring. Her growth and transformation throughout this book is nothing short of magnificent. Xander Marceau and Maya Sterling's vivid narration kept me engrossed and expertly evoked every nuance and emotion of each character, especially Tristian, Michael and Sara. Well done.

This is the second book in The Seven Sins series. Each book can be read individually. I really liked the story of Asmodeus: the Demond of Lust, woven in with Tristian and Sara’s story. Tristan and Sara are NOT blood related at all. Tristan’s mom married Sara’s dad. Tristan was 15 and Sara was five when they became siblings. When Sara turned 16, that was the first time Tristan saw her in a new light. He watched from a far. Things changes for both of them
Right before her 20th birthday. This book may have triggers for some. Maya Sterling and Xander Marceauare both new narrators to me. They both did a great job narrating this book in duet style narration.

Should people with midwestern accents be allowed to narrate romance novels? That’s debatable. DNFd at chapter 2. Maybe I’ll give reading it a go when I have more time.

Romance and a hot-dish? Not if it’s the the casserole kind.

I really enjoyed this story, but the narration bought it to life. This author is new to me and I will definitely check out her work.

Excellent narration!
