In my defense, I didn’t know that Nikolai Zhukova was any of those things when we met. I just thought he was the gray-eyed sinner in first class. And when I started having a panic attack at the sudden turbulence, I thought he was the kind soul calming me down.

But Nikolai is the farthest thing from kind. He’s cruel, he’s powerful, he’s arrogant.

And now, according to the test in my hand...he’s the father of my baby.

Didn’t want to DNF…

The introduction to the book was strong and kept my attention. However, the male narrator was very monotone and I couldn’t feel or hear the character be brought to life!! Later on, I felt that there was too much going on in the book to keep my attention, I almost pressed stop and started another book. It was an extreme slow burn but it was also rushed at the end. Then you’re left with a cliffhanger…

The lady narrator does great male narrator very blah.

Ugh…I just can’t

First, the male narrator is reading in a monotone voice rather than voice acting. The female narrator did a good job though.

Next, slow doesn’t even describe how slow the burn is. I mean, slow…snail-sloth slow burn. I wasn’t even sure there was a burn for the first half of this book!

The big adventure for the better part of the story was where Bella’s sister disappeared to and her nasty attitude while Bella was responsible for her.

The last maybe 10 minutes were sort of exciting, but definitely not enough for me to suffer through more hours in a second book. Just no. Certainly not as good as the Makarova Bratva duet. I can’t say enough good things about those two books!

Great narration… annoying h

I have read and listened to a lot of Mafia romance, and I think Belle ranks in the top we most naive heroines. The narrators didn’t a great job and the overall storyline was interesting but I found Belle very unlikeable.

the male narrator sounds like a 60 year old accountant

decent story line with plenty of plot twists. the female narrator's male voice is hands down WAAAAY more believable as a mafia head than this male narrator's voice. I found myself tuning out when he was speaking so I'm sure I missed a ton of the little things.
