When Julia's carefully constructed life takes a sudden, demoralizing nose dive, she flees to the small town of her youth. She finds the perfect landing place—a furnished cottage on a private estate in the Blue Ridge foothills. Then she learns the owner-resident is Jackson Tate—her high school crush and, until recently, the source of her greatest humiliation.
Jackson, the small town boy-turned-rock star, never forgot Julia nor the mistake he made causing his one-time math tutor to vanish from his life. Jackson avoids all but the most superficial entanglements of the female variety. Yet one look at Julia and she's all he can think about. To win back the friendship he lost, he determines to help her overcome her recent setbacks, whatever it takes.
Julia's ancient grudge can't withstand Jackson's lethal combination of humility and charm. When Jackson proposes they embark on a fling—just to help her regain her confidence—she's left wondering if her teenage crush was one-sided after all....

Coming back home after a breakup goes a bit more smoothly than Julia thought it would. She has more than found a safe place to land, she's found it with her high school crush who she also tutored. Jackson is now a very successful singer/ song writer (who Julia finds out actually wrote her favorite song) and single Dad who just happens to have a guest house Julia can use.
The chemistry that was just beginning to flame in High School now comes back in full force but not without a few buckets of water thrown on it. Things from their pasts threaten their happiness and there is also an outside force at work too. The ending has a surprising twist and that kept me reading until the last page.
I highly recommend listening to Playing Her Song it's a great way to spend a few hours and left with me with not only that happy feeling but fulfilled as well. The narrator is awesome doing both male and female voices do well it was easy to get lost in the story.
Awesome story and great narration
