A T'au Empire Audiobook

Commander Shadowsun is an ice-cold military genius – but will her patient stratagems be enough to protect all she holds dear from the Death Guard's infectious touch?

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

See an iconic t'au hero tested like never before, as she strives to confront a horrifying Legion empowered by eldritch forces beyond her logical understanding.

THE STORY

Commander O’Shaserra, better known as Shadowsun, is an ice-cold military genius celebrated across the Chalnath Expanse. She is the master of the stealth battlesuit assault and the Kauyon metastrategy – a philosophy of war that emulates the Patient Hunter. But how to lay a trap for the Chaos-worshipping warriors of the Death Guard, whose ancient technology allows their fleet to rip holes in space? And how to deal with their daemonic patrons, who defy the laws of physics and shatter the logical methods that Shadowsun holds so dear?

With her forces spread far and wide on the dark side of the Great Rift, Shadowsun must respond to a surprise attack on the Startide Nexus wormhole portal. Worse yet, as hidden atrocities and treacheries are laid bare, the threat of civil war simmers between the t'au and their allies.

If she is to stand a chance, the t'au's finest commander will have to improvise, trust to instinct, and face the unnatural echoes of her empire's own dark secrets.

A lot of Farsight style buildup of friction with the Ethereals, the warp aspects of the death guard and Tau allies has many important possibilities for the future. great narration. The Tau will have something to say before it's all done.

An enjoyable look into commander Shadowsun, and a progression for the overall story of the Tau Empire and their understanding of the warp. I would advise first reading both Farsight novels as there is some valuable context to parts of the story, but this book can be read on its own without any real issue. Helen McAlpine does an excellent job for female characters, some of the male voices take a bit of getting used to, but it does not distract from the quality of the story or the audiobook itself.

A must for any fan of the Tau Empire

Book has a cool premise but was poorly executed. Scenes and characters where pretty dull and the story can be hard to follow. Their are certain parts of the books I really liked, like shadowsun teaming up with the xenos auxiliary or her flashbacks with Puretide, but overall the book is skipable.

one of Phil Kelly's better books

Really enjoyed this book! The va tried her best with male voices and I congratulate her on that. The plot twist this leaves at the end will be brought in the future I bet!

Amazing story! Really a big WTF moment for the T'au

The whole book is stellar but the segments from the perspective of the death guard are hilarious!

Listen for the death guard banter alone
