Good story
I liked the book but this author has a habit of starting her stories in the middle, which I don't like. The book would have been great if it would have started at the beginning of their love story.

HOLY HOTNESS!
Q.B. Tyler is becoming one of my favorite smut authors! That's what I'm here for and this book delivered! PJ's FILTHY mouth brought alive by JF Harding was everything! I agree with the other reviews regarding the female narrator. She struggled with the male voices and was super whiny. Harding should've narrated the whole book and it would've been a grand slam!

Forbidden love
A storyline where you know how it’s going to end before you really start to read it, but still worth the listen. I’m a sucker for the romance and this gave me the happy ending plus all the Spice and smut I want.

Smutty Drama
What Was Meant to Be is very taboo with a 20-year age gap. Whitney is JP’s goddaughter and his best friend’s daughter. He fell in love with her when she was 18, but left for 3 years because he felt guilty. However, he couldn’t deal with the fact that she was engaged to another man. QB Tyler wrote Whitney’s fiancee to be such a douche that I found myself rooting for JP and Whitney. I liked the ending when JP realized that while he and Whitney did love each other, he would have had the same reaction to their type of relationship if his daughter had that type of relationship. There was a lot of drama and a lot of smut, but not a lot of character development. However, it was a lot of fun to read.
