Suspenseful & Very Hot!

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would at first. Gregory Salinas did fantastic as usual, but I struggled with the female narrator. She tended to pause longer than necessary at odd places in sentences, and she dragged out words far too exaggerated at times. I had to increase the speed to bear her drawl, but if I got it fast enough for her to sound normal then it made Salinas too fast.

The story was good enough to overcome my complaints though and I eventually found a happy medium. As predictable as most romantic suspense usually is, I admit my thoughts were wrong on multiple parts this time. Some things were obvious, but a couple of reveals blindsided me. No spoilers in my reviews. Read/listen for yourself. Gem & Everly are great together and I appreciated the slower pace of their relationship. Solid 4 stars for the audio, but an easy 5 for the story.

Hostile Operations Team Greatness!!

So full of action. We begin in a desert country with terrorists on our tail. Everly is there to support her Congresswoman mother (who ultimately leaves them behind) and Gem and his HOT team are able to save the day. A brief romance ensues.

We pick the action back up as Everly is taking threats on her mother seriously and asks Gem for assistance. He is resistant as he has just heard the announcement of Everly’s engagement. But when they are shot at, all bets are off. All is not as it seems and we are off to the races with action and romance and intertwined relationships

A terrific story which will keep you absolutely spellbound. I listened to the audio, and it was perfection.

Great addition to this series!

In typical Lynn Raye Harris style this was an action packed and hot read that I was hooked on when I first started reading this book.

Gem, HOT operator, meets Everly when she was touring the Middle East with her Congresswoman mother and later has a brief relationship. After ending the relationship and she finds herself engaged to someone that she does not love, she ends up turning to Gem for protection when threats come to her mother's office and then later when someone attempts to take her life. The tension between the two is so thick that it could be cut with a knife until the pair admit that they still had feelings for each other. Determined to keep her safe and end the threat against her, Gem also hopes that there is a future with her too, but will it happen??

This was action packed and the chemistry between these well written characters was a great read. I love the HOT series and always look forward to seeing what happens next. I also enjoy the return of the characters from the previous series. I recommend this book and series to others.

Great series

Even though this is a series, each one can be a standalone without feeling like you’re missing out. It’s a story of lost love because someone felt like they needed to protect the other. As things start to unravel you start learning more of the mystery that is going on. Just the right amount of suspense with sexual tension!
